Oh. Chicago Bears? Nevermind.

Yes yes, they won, but seriously, WHY WAS TRUBISKY STARTING?

I'd say it's more Falconnsssss bit I guess we can revel in the Bears' 3-0 record against teams that are a combined 1-8.

IAmRight: I'd say it's more Falconnsssss bit I guess we can revel in the Bears' 3-0 record against teams that are a combined 1-8.

Current 3-0 teams:

Seahawks
Bills
Packers
Steelers
Titans
Bears
Either Baltimore or KC, pending tonight

The Bears are far and away the worst of that group.

Unknown. Best guess is that Pace was desperately trying to save his reputation after trading up for Trubisky.

But despite's Foles' first possession (QB who hasn't played in months is rusty, news at 10!) it was obvious that one of the two is able to play QB in the NFL and the other isn't.

Hint: It's the guy who told Anthony Miller in the huddle "If they blitz, run to the L." When Miller said "Say what?" he replied "Run to the L in the ATL in the endzone."

Falcons blitzed, Miller ran to the L, the ball appeared there, Miller caught it, game.

Hell, you just look at the passes. I think the Chicago receivers were confused at first by passes that weren't five feet above them, one foot off the ground, or ten feet wide.

Trubisky can run faster and is in better physical shape. Good stuff except it's missing everything a QB needs. Foles throws the ball better, reads the defense vastly better, and isn't afraid to stand in the pocket to make those throws.

Note: I'm not saying Big Dick Nick is a good QB. I'm saying he's a vastly better QB than Mitchell Trubisky.

Undefeated against the Lions although he looked like absolute dog shiat until our rocket scientist went full man coverage in the 4th which tribusky is good against, instead of zone that he struggles against.

sigh.

Both the Packers and Bears are 3-0

But there is no doubt the Packers are a  better team

^^^ That's 100% why ^^^

Foles throws it further, accurately, too.  Defenses know against Trubisky you don't really have to defend the deep routes, so it makes successfully completing the short stuff and runs that much harder.

Very true and as a Bears fan very painful.

Relax, it's just the Falcons. If you can't do this against the Falcons there's something wrong with you.

There's a whole loop that gets better with Foles. He can throw accurately in the 20+ yard range, so you have to cover that. That means you're not stacking the box, that makes the run and the short passing game better. With all that improving, the offense stays on the field longer, so the defense isn't getting worn down by a series of MT10 three-and-outs.

Foles threw five TD passes. Miller dropped one, ARob was ARobbed of another, and three counted. And he did that in just over one quarter.

The Bears are 3-0 because the Lions are still the Lions, because the Giants have no answer for anything offensively, and because Dan Quinn still has a job for some reason.

Trubisky really got shafted when he got drafted by the Bears. He walked into one of the worst scenarios a QB could be drafted into. He was put on a team coached by John Fox and Dowell Loggains and told to learn behind a career backup QB that lasted all of four games as the starter, and was expected to perform at the same as veterans.

I couldn't really get behind Pace's move to draft a kid that started one season at the collegiate level but I had hope he would have time to develop into a quality starter for the team. But, because of the dysfunction in the organization he was thrown to the wolves early in his career without much guidance and playing for mediocre HC and OC.

At this point, I doubt the Bears will ever draft and develop a quality QB.

The Bears were projected to lose the first three games and somehow eked out three wins.

We will take it! That is the Chicago way.

This season has been a roller coaster of emotion. Ugly game play, ugly qb action.

But holy shiat the feeling when they bust out in 4th quarter is amazing.

Ryan Pace trying to save his own ass.

After what I saw yesterday I'm more convinced than ever that there was never a real QB competition.
They signed Foles because Nagy wanted him here. Pace made him start Trubisky to see what would happen and they got lucky for a couple of games.

That said. I didn't like the Foles signing and still don't think he's the answer but given the choices they have, he's the better QB.

From The Ringer's Winners and Losers column today about BDN:

You all know the story of Foles, the man who won Super Bowl MVP as a backup QB. But it goes deeper than that: Foles has been a team's Week 1 starter four times. In those four seasons, Foles has been injured three times and benched twice, never finishing any of those seasons as a team's starter. (He was injured and benched last year with the Jaguars.) In those seasons, he's thrown 30 touchdowns and 26 interceptions. But in seasons where Foles did not begin the season as a starter, Foles has thrown 41 touchdowns and nine interceptions, making the Pro Bowl in 2013 and, of course, winning the Super Bowl.

The team is really not that great and actively fills its pants for the first three quarters of its games, but, for whatever reason (be it luck, fate, defense, and/or the other team farking up), somehow manages to rally and win a lot of games late.  It feels like every other Bears playoff team of the last 20 years.

The thing is, though, this team doesn't play the Packers until the end of November.  They could easily be 7-3 by the time they go into Lambeau with Super Bowl aspirations.  However, I fully expect Foles to break his collarbone in that game, with Trubisky coming in off the bench to finish out the season 9-7 and missing the playoffs due to tiebreakers.
