Woodhull and her sister established a relationship with Cornelius Vanderbilt, a wealthy railroad magnate, through their work as traveling clairvoyants...

She married an English banker in 1883 and went on to publish a number of works, including the magazine Humanitarian, which was focused on eugenics
.

So, she was a whackadoodle grifter?

Yep. Even serious scholars like William James took things like clairvoyance seriously. And there a decent overlap between later First Wave Feminism and eugenics. That said, even cranks should be allowed run for President.

Now, actually winning . . .

We've had women run for president, we've had a woman win a majority of votes for president, we've yet to have a woman call the shots as president. (I guess Hillary counts in the 90s?).

The irony in all this is that if Hillary had been allowed to take the job that Americans hired her for, the Reds would've impeached her multiple times for... reasons, and would now be running a successful campaign against her on the 100K American dead from COVID.

The first woman was elected to Congress prior to the ratification of the 19th amendment.

Contrary to popular belief the Constitution never forbade women from holding office, nor did it forbid them from voting.

Ah yes I remember that skit now. Adam and Jimmy were funny on that show even though you know a woman would want to whoop up on them for their jokes.

I bet she would have been more successful if she had smiled more.
