This is why she "adopted" Haitian children. To block these types of accusations.

Meh.

1. Any country should be able to unilaterally decide who can become a citizen.

2. If they sign onto any international agreements those should have binding power to some extent.

3. Denying migrants based on the expectation they may need assistance is stupid. But I do think we should have that right.

If the US cannot determine who can become a lapr or citizen, who should be able to? India? China? Honduras? The UK?

The ONLY reasonable answer is us, via our executive and legislative branches as elected by the people.

We will attack her hatred of women, minorites, choice, equal rights, lgbt rights, voting....etc

winedrinkingman: Animatronik: Coney hates immigrants so much she adopted two of them from Haiti...is this really the best you've got????

And practically every country in the world that you ever liked applies means testing and restricts immigration, but somehow it's required that the U.S. have practically open borders.

You tried it in 2016.
You tried it in 2018.

Keep trying.

I know lots of racists, especially religious racists, who adopt black kids.  They seem to have this idea that they can magically raise black kids better than black parents, and discipline the black out of them.

I am not saying this is the case here.  Most cross racial adoptions seem to be okay.  Just that I know racists who have done this very thing.

When you are sure that everybody you disagree with is racist, then even when they do things no racist would do it's somehow proof of racism???

This is like the media ignoring months of riots as a nonstory, at worst some peaceful protest.

If you cover your eyes and ears and turn counterclockwise 3 times, the facts will just go away.

Meh. Many "enlightened" western socialist nations block people from immigrating based on strict income requirements and place rules against the use of public services by fresh immigrants. It's not right morally but it's fair given limited resources in the real world.

I figured it out and to live with our same standard of living we'd have to make about 2.5x as much where I'm from where the average job pays....not that good. And the jobs we do are non existent. Ehhhh there are a lot of reasons why we didn't immigrate to Canada (we actually tried at one point) but the funniest is the one 18 month period she was in Canada it hit -30 on Halloween and didn't get warmer than -25, with weeks of -40 and worse, until late April.
She said "fark this"

Uh....
Those temperatures aren't exactly representative of the vast majority of inhabited Canada. You gotta work pretty hard to live in a place that gets that cold for that long.

That is what is so funny, that was back in the 90s. While it is a cold part, and touches -30, -40 on occasion, WE were all whining about that winter. My DAD was whining about that winter. My wife's "winter jacket" she had was a complete joke. Now, 25 years of global warming later, my brother complains his kids can't go skating like we used to in the public rinks in December

so you're from Moose Jaw. Or somewhere else where you have to land by pontoon plane. Or maybe just northern Saskatchewan. Got it.

And yes i can empathize, weather that extreme you cant put up with it unless its all you've known. I have that to some extent in my own precious snowflake kind of way here in Europe too. As a native Southern Californian, if i dont see the sunshine a few days a week after a week or so i am a total basket case, its pathetic.

Maybe just go to Vancouver? Not so bad weather there, west coast vibe, loads of jobs! Hell, probably better weather than where y'all are at now.

But well, yeah the cheap as dirt midwest has its appeal to some. I'd be curious to visit Iowa, it seems to be one of those "up and coming" states that's gradually getting civilised with infusions of Blue State kids who dont want to pay 3k for an 800sqft apt any more but still have degrees and decent jobs. Like Austin was 10 years ago maybe? Doesnt google have a data center there now?

Des Moines is pretty blue though holy crap there's still lots of Trump/Pence signs around here, and the metro area is made out of all these suburbs encroaching on small towns and those are all full of trashy people. But Des Moines is getting to be like a little Austin. Kinda? Vancouver and Toronto are two places where OWNING A HOME like we do now with mortgage being....26% or whatever of our monthly income? - is a pipe dream. We committed and here we are now with our six cats.

Pichu0102: A good example: This post implies that being dependant on public assistance is criminal. The disabled sometimes need public assistance, therefore, to say this is a pre-crime allegation is to say that the disabled are criminals who leech off their host country like a parasite.

/to be fair, I'd say that's accurate in my case, but other disabled people are not parasites

the whole implicit "public service consumption is wrong" is one of the most farked up things the Right ever got adopted into the mainstream. Thats what those services are for, that's why they were set up to begin with! To be farking consumed!

Th
ere was a time when people used to have solidarity for one another an dhelp eachother out, and want to lift people out of poverty, and were happy to pay taxes so that others might have a second chance, or a better future for their kids, or help the immigrants integrate.

There's been this embedded shame put into the US that if you use the safety nets that are there (which are bullshiat and barely work anyway) you must be a bad person, and that's terrible.

I've worked my whole life but i've been laid off a time or two, why should i feel bad for using unemployment for a few months, i've paid into it since i was 16! And to those who say "but what about those who never pay in?" my answer is "there is waste in every system and every society, and the waste we tolerate in military spending, war fighting, tax cuts for rich people who dont need them etc is infinitely greater than letting some single mom get an extra 200 a month".

Americans hate each other in a way i've never seen in other places i've lived (lived and gone to schol in 4 countries)

Hell here in germany for 30 years we've been paying the "solidarity tax" ostensibly to modernize the former east germany to western standards, and now that that is done, the money is used to fund reconstruction and modernization projects in other parts of germany (not just the former east) to help rebuild infrastructure, schools etc... and the germans grumble about it to some extent, but are obliging. Why? because they recognize a rising tide floats all boats. Its better to have fewer rich people and fewer poor people, than to have a small percent of hugely wealthy and a larger percentage of poorer people.

You know, I have to correct myself (another poster covered the Finicum thing):

I don't KNOW she used these adopted kids for slave labor. For all I know, she could have adopted them because of publicity.

But her religion, on top of the secrecy of her taboo cult, makes me think they were for chores. Or worse. ... Not that Trump or outlier Catholics would do that.

Considering the "conservative" mindset, it's very likely that she actually has no problem with her children of color because they are hers.  Others can fark off.  They are a weirdly selfish bunch.
