I haven't watched South Park for years but I never once doubted that might have been from a episode on first glance.

If he had a hand in it, it would be the only redeemable thing that John Elway has done throughout his miserable life.

Besides buying an Indians fan a drink and apologizing for ruining his childhood after Elway spotted the Indians tattoo and the fellow unprompted complained about Elway ruining his childhood without realizing who he was even talking to. That was pretty nice, maybe kind of sort of.

Also, the neat story about helping a family out that gets posted in Elway threads from time to time.

Other than those things, though? Yeah, fark Elway.

I wonder how many of those aren't characters from the show (even "crowd" characters) but are avatars from the South Park Forums (which has an avatar generator that each user uses when signing up)? Those avatars (those that existed at the time) appeared in the Occulus recreation of South Park, when you go through a door and wind up in South Park Hell. There they are.

According to my South Park obsessed father (I sent him a clip), those are all toons that appeared on the show. If a user avatar made it not into the show, no idea. He is pretty sure that every cutout was an actual character.

I stopped watching around season 6. The comedy felt repetitive. I may be completely wrong on that count. Many said it picked up quality wise later.

I am almost certain I saw him in one of the pictures going around today, but I can't 100% commit to it. Still, with all the characters that have been on that show over years, one has to think he's in there somewhere.

The funny thing with South Park is I've never set aside time to watch it regularly after the first season or two - I think new episodes are first aired on Wednesdays.
But I swear by osmosis and the marathons and it always being I think I've seen every episode.  Or at least the ones that get mention on the internet

There are a lot of stinkers and rushed half-thought-through ideas. Their mandate of writing, recording, animating, and publishing every episode in less than a week before it airs really shows sometimes. But when they get it right they really knock it out of the park, though lately this happens less often and sometimes it seems Trey & Matt are just sick of the show and the world it inhabits.

Now that I see the stills that have been posted here and the new link, I agree. All actual toons from actual episodes, not forum avatars.

Two you probably didn't see were the "200" and "201" two-parter, which were actually the 200th and 201st episodes of the series. In this two-parter some continuity elements from past seasons are revisited and among other things we learn who Stan's father really is (or was ― the "answer" given in "Stan's Mom is Still a Dirty Slut" was a lie the town agreed on to satisfy his curiosity). It no longer airs even in syndication, and neither does "Super Best Friends," because both showed Muhammad as a character (speaking of which, I wonder if he was in the stands? Jesus definitely was, but sitting with His fellow Christmas avatars Mr. Hanky the Christmas Poo and Santa Claus, not with the other Super Best Friends [other religious figures plus "Seaman" instead of Aquaman as a superhero team parodying the Super Friends cartoons of the 1970s] nor the Imaginationland Council of Nine), and, well, Comedy Central doesn't want to get bombed to smithereens.

They've gotten experimental with continuity and season-arcs in recent seasons, starting in 2015, IIRC. Some significant changes have happened to major characters (one of which I alluded to above).

If Matt & Trey really are sick of the show, I wonder why they renewed it for another three seasons? They had a golden opportunity to end it last season, with what would've been heavily promoted as the final season, with the final episode of the season very heavily promoted, only to be just another episode of a typical season. Then a CC spot would air saying, "Yes, this really was the final regular episode of South Park, but the series ain't over yet! Some time early next spring [of 2020] Comedy Central will show a special extra-length South Park Series Finale! More details coming soon. Don't miss it!"

Of course, the pandemic would've ruined this anyway, especially if they did their usual "wait until the last week to do it" thing. But it won't work out as well until 2026, so this is indeed an opportunity missed.

The most sensible thing would have been to make Cartman's mom the dad and the mother actually be... Kyle's mom.

Come on, rehashing a throwaway episode for a throwaway joke? Pfft.

Now, if Kyle and Cartman were separated half-brothers? Hell there are seasons of sub-plots that could use that.
