BizarreMan: Okay this episode was really strange.

This

episode?  So all the others made perfect sense to you?  Hah...

I think I'm going to tune out of this series now.  I get the point: racism - bad.  White people - evil.  This series just isn't for me.

Y'all enjoy.

/I hope the next season of Watchmen isn't delayed by covid for too long.

I thought no one had committed to a season 2 watchmen yet?

Oh god.  Don't tell me that.  That was such an awesome show.  It'd be a shame to leave it with just one season.

It was awesome because it was one season.

I dug it, I like how each episode goes through different scenarios of sci-fi novels I read earlier (including Lovecraft). I might be a wasp, but, damn, I dig this! Keep it coming!

Watchmen isn't like Sharp Objects or Big Little Lies.  There's a lot more they could so with that show.

SPOILERS:

For one thing, does she end up with Dr. Manhattan's powers?  What happens with Ozymandias?  What happens with Lady Trieu's mother-daughter?

Too many issues, and one big question were left open ended for that show to have come to a conclusion with one season.

Oh man, you don't actually get the point. Racism is just part of the setting, it's not the point of anything. If it feels inescapable and all-pervasive, well, I got news for you about that. But the show isn't about racism any more than Lovecraft's stories were about racism (they were chock full of it, but it wasn't the point, well, kinda wasn't the point, I mean for Lovecraft some of the stories were "There are inhuman things in the world, and just the very fact that they exist is scary", so it's a fine line, but anyway)

Okay, upon watching the most recent episode, I stand corrected: I understated by how much you actually missed the point. Holy shiat.
