Pretty sure it was awesome.

Its hard to say how advanced the cancer was at the time; I mean he was always the guy kind of chiling in the back, not acting wild like mike d & adrock.  I man they're all covered with sweat and tired at the end.

All i know is the only opportunity i had to see them, I had tickets to them & RATM, 4th row at deer creek in indy.  mike d busted his ass wrecking his bike, RATM broke up, the tour was cancelled, and I never got to see them in person.  Remains the ultimate "wish i would have seen them".

CSB: Back in '98 I was interning at the UN in NYC. Us interns were broke but on Tuesday nights would head to the World Trade Center - 110th floor Windows on the World - and nurse a beer as there was no cover to get in. It was a little after 1am and the place was clearing out - maybe 50 people left. Three guys got on stage. It was the farking Beastie Boys!!!! They did a 30 min set. So cool to hear 'No Sleep Til Brooklyn' overlooking Brooklyn.

I forget the year, mid-late 90's. I got to see RATM headline with Wu-Tang Clan.

Completely amazing show. Zach went out with Wu for a few songs before RATM headlined. ODB and Rza came out for a couple Rage songs.

It was August in South Florida and there was an amazing late-day thunderstorm that had hail and lightning and 50mph winds that delayed the start of the show.

White kids jumping up and down to Wu-Tang, black kids moshing to RATM.

Weed. Everywhere.

Everywhere.

The most amazing concert I've ever been to in my life, and I've seen some shows.

/by the end of RATM's set, there was a mountain of seats stacked up by the side of the stage people had ripped out of the ground

I ain't defending the clown you quoted but she should know 2Pac is dead at the very least. She's from the west coast and not much older than Pac would have been. It doesn't matter though, she probably misheard the question and just named her favorite rapper. A rapper that funnily enough would clown DAs.

OMG a Black woman isn't acting Black enough for you? Stop the presses, RedSectorA just learned that skin color may not necessarily dictate what RedSectorA defines as "culture."

Or maybe nonconformity to stereotype may be seen as a character flaw, since RedSectorA feels the need to hijack other threads to market the concept that the guy with mountains of experience who willingly played second fiddle to the less experienced first Black president might be weak on matters of minority support against the guy endorsed by every white supremacist group out there.

This has actually made Fox News entertaining to me, seeing them try to convince a bunch of Trump voters that Biden is vulnerable on this.

CSB: a friend of mine got a job in NYC in the early 90s. He started hanging out with his work friends more often, and me and his high school/college friends less. Finally he decided we all needed to start getting together so as not to leave anybody behind. The 1st major gathering we had: 8 tickets to the Beastie Boys - Madison Square Garden - 5/23/1995. We all finally met as a group.
The current tally from that concert:
- 2 direct marriages
- 2 indirect marriages (friends of friends)
- 4 kids
- all marriages going 10+ years and counting (20th anniversary this week for the first one)
BTW - the show was amazing (setlist here).

Was this at UNO in New Orleans?

CSB time.

1994 Lollapalooza.

Corgan was supposed to hit the stage in the AM so we went early cause one of the girls with us had a wide on for Corgan and would not shut up about it.

This the days of the rebirth of the crusty hippy/proto hipster kids and she was one.  Smelled like a sack full of assholes and dirty armpits and sounded like Roseanne Barr with the looks of Amy Carter(who also smelled the same when I met her in 96).

So it seems Corgan had some sort of sand in his vagina and postponed til noon.  Then noon came and no Corgan.  He came on at 10 at night.

Did I mention that it was NOLA in the middle of farking August.

My girl and I burned one down and split a tab of acid and proceeded to watch the "drag races" which were transexuals running foot races in heels.  Along the way stuck a fly swatter up his ass and was swatting the crowd.

So while Corgan was douching or whatever he was doing we saw.

1.Cypress Hill
2.Tribe called Quest
3.George Clinton
4. Beasties

And a host of other bands.

Beasties came on and farking ripped into SureShot and sang about 12 songs and encored with Brass Monkey and ended with Sabotage.

George hits the stage and is voice was still fairly ok then and did a huge set and closed with the Beasties, Q Tip, and Cypress hill coming out to help on We Want The Funk.(Give up the Funk).

Between the 100 degree heat the weed, the acid wearing off, and not too mention all the beer we drank(my girl's 14 year old brother was not supposed to be there but he was, and had smuggled in an ice chest, so in lieu of us telling on him, he gave us half).

So at last Corgan comes on the stage. 10 at night.  At this point everyone is smelling like BO and Swampass.  All I wanted to do was take a shower.

Corgan comes out and says "Good morning New Orleans, yall ready to party).  Evidently the crowd response was not "energetic" enough for Corgan and said that if we were not gonna all stand up he was gonna sit down too, and brought out a farking rocking chair.

A lone beer bottle sailed out of the crowd and landed at his feet and someone yelled "fark you bill" and maybe a third of us left.

You do not follow the above four bands and expect anyone to have anything left in them and you do not insult your audience.

I was lucky and got to see them twice.

In 1998 they announced a last minute show at the Electric Factory in Philly the day before the Tibetan Freedom concert in DC. I think they were using it as a warm up show. Tickets were sold on the phone the day before and it was all will call pick up. We got to the Electric Factory and the line was around the building for will call, we ended up hitting the strip clubs and coming back just in time to get in to the show. That place is standing room only, holds about 3000 people and it was incredible. That's the set list from that show.

https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/beastie-boys/1998/electric-factory-philadelphia-pa-33dd3005.html

Second time was at the VirginFest in Baltimore. Amusing part there was LCD Soundsystem was on the smaller stage and knew they were going to overlap with the Beastie Boys. James Murphy pointed that out and they played all their popular songs up front so we could hear them and make it over to the other stage.

https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/beastie-boys/2007/pimlico-race-course-baltimore-md-1bd7d194.html

As for this show.. I started watching it, it's gonna be hard to get through knowing it's their last time on stage.

I also recommend watching the Glasgow show, it's good - https://youtu.be/xJYfOGb3sKw
