The real question to ask is "What will happen to all of Trumps staffers at noon on Jan 20, 2021?"

How much of a president is he if most of his staff of trolls submits their resignation?

They don't have to resign - all the appointees will be f*cking GONE.  That's the way it works.  They all have to clear out their offices, secure all computers and hand over their parking passes by 2:00 on the 20th. Then the new appointees start bringing their stuff in.

No, this is all about not accepting the results of the election as untainted.  And the f*cking republicans are doing everything possible to undermine the integrity of the election, so they can then claim it wasn't a fair election and they won't accept it  Count on this. Whatever the results, Donald Trump and the Republican Party will not accept the outcome unless it is a Republican win.  Their reasoning will be much like Lindsey Graham - that it's unfair that people want them out of office and are trying to impede their governance by voting.  They will lie.  They will falsify evidence.  They will appoint crooked judges onto the benches making rulings as to the validity of election results.  They will buy electors.  They will do anything, and then turn around and blame what they did on Democrats, even when there is incontrovertible evidence that they themselves did it.

This is how America works now.  Get that through your heads, guys.  Donald Trump has brought his business practices to government.  It's up to the Democrats to figure out what to do when one of the two major political parties decides to subvert the entirety of the democratic process.

You missed the point of my comment- if he tries to stay I fully expect most, if not all of his staff to abandon him, leave respectfully and in a dignified manner.

They might be imbeciles, but they aren't going to follow him into the hole.

Oh - if he wins, they'll stay.  They will have the iron-clad excuse that they wanted to keep the wheels of government turning while it all played out.  It was all out of their devotion to the nation that they stayed to work for a man trying to overthrow the government.

Ya see, currently, among others, there's this guy Stephen Miller, and another guy Bill Barr - neither of them, in point of fact, have ever done anything respectfully and in a dignified manner. If it were me it would be a firing squad for those implicated and those cheering for it. But since the people running the democratic party in congress have too much to lose and are gutless, they wont say shiat or do anything real.

How many of those in congress from both parties are millionaires?

Take a look at Dejoy, he's already got his ass so deep in hot water that he's likely to eventually end up with jail time, same holds for Barr.  The fact that Trump can still find people willing to step up and *knowingly* take an inevitable knife if the back should clear any doubt that people won't follow him into any madness he finds himself in.

Don't ask me why, I can't explain in, guy has some sort of Dracula like charm over his sycophants that thinking people don't grasp. But, just because we can't understand it, doesn't mean we can't acknowledge it exists. For some reason, people will 100% throw themselves off a cliffside if he bids it.

His minion lieutenants, like Cohen, Barr and now Dejoy, eventually find themselves in a situation like any good abusive blackmailer does, they get you to go along with the petty shiat, then, threaten to out you if you go back on your word.

They're all in it together, if Trump falls they know they all do, so it's a suicide pact, and they will absolutely follow him in to hell, if there's a chance they can get away with it.

I hate it when pundits talk about "what happens if Trump refuses to leave the White House?" If Trump loses the election, he stops being president in January. If Biden wants, he can let Trump stay in the basement as his guest, but that doesn't make Trump president.

The real question is whether Trump's Republican supporters will recognize the results of the election if he loses, and what types of road blocks to a peaceful transition to power they will throw up. Will state Republicans try some shenanigans with electors in the electoral college? Will the Department of Justice intervene to try to "invalidate" votes? Will right wing nut jobs flood D.C. with armed militia members to react violently to the results, some of whom might not be so obese that they aren't completely useless in a stand up fight? Because whatever havoc can be stirred up, Trump will be there whipping people into a frenzy and pouring whatever resources he can steal from the government on his own behalf to support them. That is the real danger.

Because whatever havoc can be stirred up, Trump will be there whipping people into a frenzy and pouring whatever resources he can steal from the government on his own behalf to support them. That is the real danger.

Biden could call up troops under the Insurrection Act.  It would be a genuine insurrection. after all.

Benalto: Induced.Karma: Opacity: Benevolent Misanthrope: Opacity: Benevolent Misanthrope: Opacity: The real question to ask is "What will happen to all of Trumps staffers at noon on Jan 20, 2021?"

I'm not saying if he wins, I'm saying if he loses but refuses to leave his staff will abandon him.

And what are you basing this belief on?

I have no idea wtf will happen, but with every Trump in history there's a point where the followers turn on the demagogue or abandon en masse.

...but only after vast damage has been done.

This is the kind of reasoning I see all over academia from undergrad students:

FTA: "So if we're waiting for one state, does that mean the whole nation, the whole world is going to wait for one state?"

Here in Canada, we are giving all kinds of credentials to people who think like this. As if simply wanting something means that there is no process to getting that thing, and that wanting is enough to pre-empt the possibility of the thing not coming true. In academia, we call it the "student as consumer" but Trump is acting like he is a consumer and the electoral college is selling him the election. I'm really worried about how we have made this the dominant ethic of people with credentials to be hired at the entry level of almost every business.

For Trump to win, you must have everyone assume the sale. And I know that academia in North America is facilitating and assuming the sale in every part of life.

...My off-topic rant is supposed to mean that Trump's coup is the fault of college professors in the USA and Canada, for producing the citizens who think it makes sense to support him.

cepson: I hate it when pundits talk about "what happens if Trump refuses to leave the White House?" If Trump loses the election, he stops being president in January.

That's what people mean when they say "Trump won't leave the White House."  They don't mean physically, they mean overturning the election and remaining in office.

Given what I heard W's people did when Obama took office, it's going to be an assload of petty, petty shiat.

I want to know why they don't hound McConnell more. I want to know why they are taking this so damn easy on the senate.

because the senate decides everything now.

Him not leaving in January isn't the danger... It's him declaring Biden's win invalid on Nov 4th that is going to be the problem.

Can you elaborate on this?  I'm having a hard time following your logic here.
