They should do it as The Office, but with way more "farks.". S.H.I.E.L.D.'s HR department is a pain in his ass.

It's not under the FCC, they can do whatever the fark they want. Some Karens might scream about it, but fark them.

Smart move by Dinsey+.

A lot con be said for Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt, etc.

If any one character has been the true spine of the MCU film universe, it's Nick Mothafarkin' Fury.

She can join the Avengers.  With Thor and Carol offworld, and the Hulk injured, she can be the strongest of them.

This.  And some of the other SHIELD agents from the show like Bobbi and Hunter.

Oh, and now that Stumptown has been canceled Maria Hill could join the team full time.

Meh, pass. I've never found Fury interesting enough to watch an entire series about him. I feel he's better as a side character doing most of his work in the background. Even in Captain Marvel I kept asking myself why he was even there.

Besides, he's a spy for a secret agency. We already have that show. It's called Agents of SHIELD.

Pass, for me  Fury was always the most obnoxious part of any Marvel movie.

Disney+ doesn't do R ratings.

The most interesting thing about Fury is in a "What If?" when Wolverine killed him with an LMD to stop the Sentinel program.

I think they missed an opportunity to be creatively fun and save a ton of dough by not asking William Jackson Harper from The Good Place to play Young Nick Fury in Captain Marvel.

I think she was totally miscast. The lady who played the Hand in AoS would have been better for the part.

Well not Disney+ but they control most of the entertainment industry, including everything Quentin Tarantino and Kevin Smith ever did so they could figure something out.

Not anymore. Also because of movie deals and what not, it was only loosely tied to the MCU. I'd like a Marvel spy show set on Earth where every now and again an actual superhero shows up. I liked Agents of Shield, but it was more aliens and time travel than a Superhero show.

I could see him pulling off a young Samuel L quite well, yeah.  But I wouldn't want him for an entire movie like it was in Captain Marvel.  Samuel L is still Samuel L and I want him.

But for a situation where there's a movie or series with some flashbacks?  Heck yeah.

2020-09-26 12:43:29 PM
What's it going to be? The Young Nick Fury Chronicles where old Nick starts every episode by cornering someone in the Shield lunchroom and insists on telling them a tale of his early days when he was played by a different actor? Or will it be Fury, He Writes where he's retired, had become an author of mystery tales, and travels around solving murders and other crimes that took place at the homes of various third stringer superheroes?

I don't know, but he was the last example of "the black guy always dies in horror movies" cliche. But he didn't even count because he was also "rich guy in charge of everything" and rich guy in charge of everything always has to die*. And LL Cool J lived along with non-descripted guy.

*now following that rule, Hammond should have died in Jurassic Park but he's
Richard Attenborough so fark you.

How about releasing some of the series you've been teasing us with for over a year? I know the pandemic has slowed things down but sheesh, Mando season 2 is coming out in a month and we have had no new MCU since far from home.

Maybe make sure this is gonna work before you go hog wild  ordering new series :)

Hammond did die in the book, but Spielberg made the character a lot less villainous. Besides, nobody wanted to see Attenborough die in the movie. His Hammond was an irresponsible goof, but he was also just too damn charming.

I don't really count that in the trope because they were clearly playing on the "Sam Jackson is a badass who ain't getting killed by some goddamn shark" assumptions of the viewer.

Plus there was the other assumption that they wouldn't dare kill Jackson's character, because SLJ was the biggest name in the movie and none of the other actors could command the screen like he did. His exit is a great unexpected scene, but the interest in what happens next plummets after that moment. I honestly don't remember the ending at all.

So I was watching Enola Holmes and realized I need a Norman Osborn prequel featuring Burn Gorman as the proto Goblin.

The three leads get to the top.  Saffron Burrows sacrifices herself to save the others.  LL Cool J apparently dies but doesn't.  Headshot kills the sharks with an explosive or something.

And Hooper died in the Jaws book but because of Spielberg, he lived and they had last lines,

"It's funny. I used the hate the water"

"Heh, I can't imagine why."

Spielberg also wisely cut the affair between Hooper and Mrs. Brody. Jaws is one of those rare cases where the movie is much much better than the book.

I was really hoping Disney would drop a ton of Fox and Miramax content on Hulu, but it hasn't happened yet.  20th Century Fox's catalog alone is a freaking gold mine.  Instead, HBO Max opened with, for my money, a movie lineup far superior to Hulu's.  They ought to be ashamed

I guess Disney gonna Disney.  Hulu might drop a "Best of Fox Searchlight" for a month every 5 years, then a month of Miramax the following year.  Assholes

Ideally what they'd do is get a younger actor and do a really highly stylised show, set in the late eighties, but based on the old Steranko run of Nick Fury Agent of SHIELD from the sixties. Go back to cool rather than angry (also get a white woman with a great arse to play the Contessa and really piss off the racists).

But they've already done Hydra infiltrating SHIELD for Winter Soldier, so anything set in the past has to explain how Mr Super-Spy got played so bad.

He didn't really get played though. They actually did a pretty good job of showing him being already prepared when they turned on him. He knew the upper management was corrupt and untrustworthy, that's why he frequently went rogue and ignored them. He just didn't realize they were corrupt and untrustworthy because they were Hydra. Which, why would he? Hydra hadn't been a thing since before he was born. He still knew something was up.
