Make sure it's not too noisy. Hearing damage is a thing and pretending appliances don't cause it is stupid. Goes triple for yardwork with leafblowers or lawn mowers (a chore I had as a kid and hated more than anything).

I know that younger kids in my family have loved vacuum cleaners..Starting about 3 or 4, the vacuum becomes
this mystical thing to kids..I agree with the lady in the article..Get a cheap vac and let them go to town
with it..I agree with Adamatari about noise though...Maybe avoid the cheap Chinese knockoffs..The
Cheap Chinese knockoff I have of a Dyson is loud and runs really hot after a short use time..

Same reason I bought my 4 year old a real push mower. He was pushing one of those toy clackety ones around, I figured that wasn't helping anyone. He got a little upset when he ran over those bunnies, but that was a learning opportunity.

My kids are all excited about the little vacuum until it comes to actually being useful.  Then the drop it or throw a fit.

Dyson makes a kid-sized real vacuum, a mini of one of their actual big sweepers.drens-products/toy-reviews/a25318425/toy-vacuum-little-helper/
