Those calls were delivered via 53 different phone numbers.

Do people really still answer calls from numbers they don't know?  If you aren't in my contacts list, I'm not answering. If you are not in my contacts list and are a live person that really wants to talk to me, you'll leave a voice mail (and like 75% of those voice mails are solicitations anyway which get deleted immediately).  Any other call is one I'll never need to take.

Hell, even my 86 year-old father has finally pretty much adopted this incoming call processing procedure.

It is sad that Trump isn't waiting until RBG is in the ground before he picks someone who seems like she'll shiat all over her legacy of furthering equal rights.

You have to admire the brilliance of his plan. In an election year, right before the actual vote, nominate a justice that completely opposes women's rights, while you simultaneously desperately need suburban women voters to turn out for you.....

The number one rule of commerce is "don't make it hard for people to give you money. "

I think the political corollary is "don't make it hard for people to vote for you. "

Why would you tell your voters to make things more complicated for themselves?

The other voters are just going to do the easy thing and vote.

It almost sounds like a scheme cooked up by a man dumb enough to fail at selling red meat, booze and gambling to Americans.

You have to prove your identity in order to request a mail in ballot. No state is blanket mailing out ballots.

I have yet to see you disgree with Trump no matter stupid thing is being debated. I vote Democratic but disagree with plenty of them on certain issues.

It's like you go out of your way to be contrary to any Fark thread (there's a name for that). Or you're honestly dumb enough and easily mislead into supporting anything Trump says, even if he signed an EO proclaiming a national "Kick a Puppy" day.

Yes, they mail them out to all registered voters.  CA is pretty much all vote by mail right now.  This is a problem... because?

There were actually TEN Zathrases, but I guess if they all tried to vote, a Republican could say because they were all clones it would be a clear cut case of voter fraud.

///only if they were Democrats

///if they were Republicans, the GOP would say "Fine, go ahead with whatever you want to do."

It's a completely rational division.

Absentee voting is for red-blooded, conservative American patriots, and it is very good.
Mail-in voting is for uppity urban rioters, Marxists, and liberals, and it is very bad.

Any idiot can understand this.  Sheesh.

No, what makes this lib think is how candidates who win without 'winning' a majority of the votes tend to be Republicans. And that same party seems to be intimidated by the idea that more people vote. Trump is right about one thing, Republicans can't win if there are more people voting.

So many people here are convinced that this messaging from the GOP/Trump is just another misguided effort at doublespeak.   While some of them are stupid enough to do this, the smarter ones know that they have no chance at a legitimate victory at the polls. What they are doing is laying the propaganda groundwork for a claim of losing due to election fraud.  I don't know exactly what their game plan is when that happens, but I can safely assume that it won't be good.

It is entirely within the realm of possibility that they will refuse to cede power and try a thinly disguised coup. These assholes appear to have decided that it is better to risk being hung for treason than to face the inevitable charges for lesser crimes they have committed while in office.

Voted on Tuesday- the amount of double checking and printed stickers with all your info on multiple forms and bar codes and multiple envelopes- their claims that there's all kinds of impropriety are pure fiction.

And anyone who not only answers a robo-call and then continues to listen AND THEN actually believes what they are hearing . . . maybe shouldn't be voting.
