I used to do that when providing research to IRS agents.  I'd find a court decision and pick out quotes from the dissenting opinions.  They never checked the source and it worked.

Why not?

Iam so tired of people just assuming he is immune from the consequences of his actions.

Force the point, and vote Chant Lock him up!

One would think this a terminally dumb legal strategy, but he and his lawyers are obviously banking on the possibility some of the unqualified sh*tbirds he's appointed will get a chance to agree with the Orange Sh*tstain that up is down, black is white and unicorns are real.

Why would a lawyer ever agree to work for Trump, knowing his history of stiffing people who do work for him?

This bullshiat makes me hope there is a God and it is way into judgment, so Trump will finally pay a price.

But about that time we crashed into the truck
And as I'm laying bleeding there on the asphalt
Finally I recognize the face of my hibachi dealer
Who takes off his prosthetic lips and tells me

Everything you know is wrong
Black is white, up is down and short is long
And everything you thought was just so important doesn't matter
Everything you know is wrong

After Trump is out of office, all his lawyers should be hanged for the good of the country.

I mean, the Supreme Court majority opinion was "The president's legal arguments are flawed, but non-flawed arguments may exist that he failed to exercise. Issue is remanded to a lower court to be reheard."

What is the cost of using the same argument again? Is the Supreme Court going to determine he is playing silly buggers and say that he's forfeited his case? Or will they say that he must have misheard them the first time, come up with a new argument, and send him back to square one?

We should bum rush the White House!

Since it's less of a legal argument and more of a delay tactic, it's perfectly logical.

In order to run out the clock on the Supreme Court fiasco, the Dems in the senate just need to start debating on the following:

Which number is bigger, 15 or 5?
Do owls exist?
Are there hats?

Pretty sure they just won't take up the case, in which case the judgement is whatever the lower court ruled.

Only if you're a Republican. Try that shiat as a Democrat and you'd be led out of the back of the courthouse and straight to the gallows.

They're setting up arguments for when this goes to SCOTUS again with RBG's replacement sitting on the bench.

derpes_simplex: It's never been about winning the legal argument.  It's about stalling until the damage is done.

We need to criminalize on some level the weaponizing of court delays.  At some point it becomes obvious that a legal team is basically trying to run out the clock, and that should not be an action for which there are legal repercussions.  That's the only way to vacate the incentive to use this tactic.

Note it was 7-2 last time; would need Kavanaugh and Gorsuch to rehear the same case and have a change of heart that the minority got it right the first time.

Not saying it can't happen, but that is what it takes.

Racist, lawyers that want to grift like the orange one. Lawyers who's morals are so depraved that the only way they think they can make it is in whatever the world will be in a 2nd Trump term.

2020-09-25 3:49:31 PM
This whole tax return farandole is hilarious, in a way. Once Trump has been dead 20 years, and all appeals have been exhausted, the Trump Organization will produce a teacup full of fine light gray ash and apologize to the SDNY staff: "sorry, this is all we could find of Donald Trump's tax returns from the time period agreed."

Trump has to be laughing his ass off every time he meets with Mnuchin and this comes up.

It may be irreparable damage. Donnie's reputation is based on being a wildcard. His taxes come out and it shows he is just a regular, mild mannered, law abiding citizen, then no-one will fear him. Without the fear as a factor, he won't be able to drain the swamp.
