Trump is a grifter and a con man and a game show host and a terrible leader whose example I would never let my children follow.  Everything he does is a joke perpetrated on the American public.

It's not policy. It's a couple of random executive orders that dictate things that the president has little (if any) authority to implement.

Oh, and a $200 bribe to medicare recipients ($6.6 Billion total) to try and get them to vote for him.

When you elect somebody who believes that success is a matter of self-promotion that is ultimately unconnected with results, expect a lot of self-promotion and not a lot of results.

The GOP has been hard at work crafting this bill since at least 2012 and it's almost complete.  They just need another few years to perfect it, so, vote GOP.

No, you can't see it. It's like a souffle, if you look at it before it's ready, you'll ruin it. But, trust us, it will be amazing. Just another 4 years, that's all they need.

Thanks to the journalist who took the effort to analyze what's actually happening here, instead of just repeating Trump's talking points like we saw in the earlier article.

I just got a check the other day from Anthem Blue crossBlue Shield for 1,200 bucks in refund because apparently I ove-paid and Obamacare makes sure that insurance companies have to square the discrepancy.

Before Obamacare I was going bankrupt paying 20k per year for insurance I didn't really use...for like between 5 and ten years. that's nearly $200k over a decade for which I drew nothing.

Then Obamacare came along and within days my bill went down to $12k, then a month or two later it was $8k...
then I didn't make over $50k at my self-employed job and Obamacare said I had no choice I was going on Medicaid, and for a couple or three years I didn't have to pay a dime for my meager medical expenses

Obamacare was a huge success.

What I tell anyone who tries to defend Trump:
* you wouldn't invest in his businesses
* you wouldn't work for him
* you wouldn't leave a daughter or grand-daughter alone in a room with him

Why would you vote for him?

(And you wouldn't play golf with him either.)

I can't wait to hear how he's going to cover pre-existing conditions without a mandate.  I'm sure insurance companies are very interested in this piece.

Similarly, protecting Americans with pre-existing conditions is clearly worthwhile, but (a) Trump signing an executive order to create a benefit that already exists in the Affordable Care Act is ridiculous; and (b) the president is currently fighting to take these protections away through a case at the Supreme Court.

This is tremendous. It's a bit like signing an executive order declaring that it's official US policy to make murder illegal while also fighting in court to invalidate the existing laws that make murder illegal.

Exactly how stupid does someone have to be to think this EO means a goddamn thing?

Trump's failure to act and disconnect from the populace has resulted in over 200 THOUSAND deaths so far.  He has already proven he has no regard for others' lives.  He is simply trying to do everything he can to not have to leave office (and speak with those nice prosecutors from New York)

runwiz: I can accept the fact that the republicans and Trump do not like Obamacare.  Fine.  They've had 4 years now, two while controlling both Houses of Congress, to come up with a replacement plan. They've done nothing...

You're not considering that they spent the '7 years' before that getting the Paul Ryan plan together for 2017 that was so comprehensive that they had to scribble things in the margin up to the last minute.

Somehow, 40% of us can't see this as a charade. And accept uttering phrases like "we're gonna do preexisting conditions" as more meaningful than actual lawsuits trying to get them disqualified.

President Donald Trump announced two new health care executive orders Thursday on protecting pre-existing conditions and preventing surprise billing as the president seeks to shore up his support on an issue that remains top of mind to voters amid to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The actions, however, have minimal impact.

Surprise billing? As in "it's not rape, it's surprise sex"?
