It sounds dumb, but they got sufficient support last go round to meet the threshold, so this is the result.  Rather have the delay than have another Wellstone moment if it was a Senate race (Wellstone's race was the reason for the law)

I'm still voting for Angie. What does this do to our not yet-received absentee ballots?

They've all been shredded and Minnesota was given to Trump, because you have good genes.

So you're assuming he was killed by marijuana? How? Crushed under a bail of it?

Really?  Why bother if you're not going to put any effort into it.

I don't think Legalize Marijuana Now has ever had a candidate elected.

They are not even our only pot party!  We have two, because apparently the original party split over some issue.  (Not sure what is contentious about legalizing weed among weed smokers, but in MN, our pot party managed to find out!)

Also, for anyone not from Minnesota, Jerry Lewis (also mentioned in the article) is a giant pile of garbage.

Huge pile.  Think younger, more hateful, Rush Limbaugh who is (of course) a Trumper.

As someone from a state that elected a dead guy over John Ashcroft, this is pretty weak Minnesota.

Probably regarding tax schemes, whether to fully legalize or just decriminalize, etc.

I did chuckle a bit when I noticed the "Legalize Marijuana Now" party on the ballot when I voted a few days ago.  I mean, I like weed, hell, I'm high right now - but don't base your entire political party platform on it.

One probably skews Libertarian and the other Leftist. It's the one bipartisan issue that both sides agree on.

No, Becky died after she injected one marijuana into her eyeball.

This is an easy thing to do and it doesn't disenfranchise voters.

What's the catch? Why is this being done?

I'd take a dead guy over Norm Coleman too.

I chuckle a bit when I realize there are still people dumb enough to think the major parties are likely to do anything as significant as ending the drug war.

The real travesty is understanding why MN hasn't legalized pot yet. If IL and MI can do it, so can MN.

Elements of this article that would have been hard to fathom in 1995, ranked:

3. In a tweet Thursday, [Congresswoman] Craig wrote she "was deeply saddened to hear the tragic news of Adam Weeks' passing earlier this week" and said that she and her wife are praying for his family.

2. The Legal Marijuana Now party is considered a major party under Minnesota law

1. This decision has huge implications for Craig, who faces a well-funded GOP opponent in a district that President Donald Trump narrowly carried in 2016.

Whoops.  Was reading about Jerry Lewis in a separate discussion on another site.  Must have mixed up the names.

Every other election on the ballot is still a go. There will be a special election for that district sometime after Jan 3.

I thought the SOP everywhere was to just hold the election and have a run-off with a replacement if the dead guy wins.

There won't be any change to the ballots or how anything is counted except votes for the MN 2nd congressional race will not be counted.

Lewis lost that seat to Craig on the last go around. Now he is trying to get in the Senate running against Smith, hoping that on a state-wide basis there is a lower percentage of people that are aware that he is an asshole, or that there is a larger percentage of people that agree with assholes.

One of scariest things about 2020 is that there are scenarios in play where the outcome of the Presidential Election may hinge on this (non-)result.

Barring State law, it probably is.  But, there be a State law in this case, so there we go....
