Yeah, he's one of the bad cops.

Did he try to blame it on Antifa also?

That brave officer faces life and death situations every day. Every. Single. Day. From walking into someone else's apartment, to having people follow the law and your orders regarding a concealed handgun, they are the elite. The finest of the finest. They deserve to blow off some steam. Maybe a little locker room talk every now and then. It's the warriors code. Yellow belly libs wouldn't understand the code.

Terrible crop of apples this year.

He was just concerned that they might join a riot later.

So weeks after it happened, he's just off duty?

F*ck, imagine if you went and slashed a bunch of tires. It wouldn't take weeks, and it'd be more harsh than "off duty.

SBinRR: Terrible crop of apples this year.

No kidding.  I've got no apples at all.  There was a late winter storm that killed all the flowers, so... ohhh.

I'm not crazy about the one who showed up to give him a knife and walked away when he asked to be left alone either.

It's not the tires, it's the mounting, spin balance, whitewall touch up, and four wheel alignment that get you.

Why no Hero tag?
All cops are heroes.
Just like all military, former and present.

For what, a Bugatti? A set of mid-range cheapos (if you ride on Walmart tires, you will die) on a sedan in 250-350 bucks. Even all that other stuff would run you 90-200.

Now my truck tires, those are 250 a piece.

I suppose of you are gonna press charges, you total costs to what it would be individually priced. The only thing my shop doesn't do for "free" for you when buying tires is alignment. "Free" is in quotes because the tires at shop are 100 dollars a set more than buying wholesale. So you pay for all your balancing etc via the tires.

I don't have 12 grand worth of machines and tools. Or the patience to spend 6 hours with string to do a manual alignment.

Hell. The public has betrayed them! They're HEROS. Why can't everyone see that. Completely understandable reaction. 100% I mean; if you can't shoot some unarmed garbage people, who can you shoot?

The bartenders tires at the very least.

If he was on duty, no one would have batted an eye. Cops only get to riot when on duty. Easy mistake to make.

Yeah, good move, pig, taking out your aggression on vehicles owned by people who had absolutely nothing to do with you being cut off.

Watched a Modern Marvels a while back and I seem to recall those tires are closer to $40,000. Each.

Damages include more than just the slashed tires.  You've got to take a taxi home ($20), get your car towed ($150), get a rental for a few days ($150), get a taxi from the rental place to wherever your car was towed to ($20), and finally pay for the tires ($800).

That adds up to $1140.  Maybe if you include lost income from all the time you spent on the phone sorting the repairs out (10 hours at a consulting rate of $300/hr) you could get close.

I'll bet he got a paid vacation.  Reads article...

"He has been on paid leave ever since, according to the mayor of the Luzerne County town."

2020-09-25 12:38:26 AM
"...$5,543.21 in damages..."

Cop math applied to a cop.  Some motherfarker just divided by zero.

If he would have just done it on duty we wouldn't be reading anything about it.

But he's law enforcement caste, so that prob gets him a promotion.

2020-09-25 2:05:23 AM
Do we know if the slashed tires can be linked with drug dealing in any way?  Had they recently driven through a neighborhood where drugs were sold?  Were they installed at a shop where someone may have smoked a joint?

We need to know that first.

Because maybe the cop was justified.

(Or not /s, if you are the LMPD.)

Strategic Deflation?

Remember folks, if you ever want to slash someone's tires you're better off just cutting the valve stem.  A much cheaper replacement if you get caught and have to pay for it.

2020-09-25 7:56:59 AM
This is the kind of stuff you do when you know you cant be prosecuted.

2020-09-25 8:00:33 AM
Is it weird if before I even read the article I just assumed it was Luzerne County?

2020-09-25 8:32:21 AM
I guess we should be happy he's even being charged. After all, some cops go out and murder sleeping women and and up without even a ruler across the palms. Tires are more important than some lives.

Don't try to cut them, the valve stem has a wound steel core.  You'll only damage your knife.

Grab them with some vice grips and then rip them off, they'll tear off right at the surface line of the rim.  It's how we do it in the shop when we're changing tires.

Not to worry he wont be fired.
