I think Thune might... maybe... They'd just bully him into going along with the party, but i don't think he's full on flavor-ade drinker.

Also, wasn't he one of the ones who went to Moscow to celebrate the 4th of July a few years ago?

At least half of them are hostages.   I kinda envy future historians and anthropologists who will have the hindsight to really research and study this current Congress.

It's easy to say this when you have nothing immediately on the line.  When push comes to shove, and the pressure to cave to party over country, let's see how courageous you really are.

Right, Mitt?

Since this administration isn't really doing anything, anywhere, we COULD technically just bump up transition to November 4th.  I mean it's not like getting the two admins together to discuss handoff is going to do anything, the Trump people aren't going to lay out all the ways they've been breaking the law or undermining our Government, so what's the point?

But yeah this is a bunch of BS, the GOP will file suit after suit and back their man until death because once the skeletons start coming out, they are all going to be implicated.

I would advise against stopping there as well once Trump refuses to leave office.

Of COURSE Republicans will stand up to him if he LOSES the election. But he definitely won't lose the election because he's already preparing an end-run around whatever the results are. So they'll back him because "he won the election".

You can claim belief in those lofty principles all you like but for the last 4 years your party has been shiatting all over the constitution. Let's see you walk the walk for once.

Sorry to spoil your fantasies,, but If Trump loses an election the SCOTUS determines is fair and binding, there isn't a conservative who wouldn't demand he leave office.

Nah, when the job of "Minister of Gambling & Hookers" is opened up and offered to him, he'd change his tune real fast just to get this greasy fingers on all that power.

It's the power they crave; ethics or optics? None of them care.

Another super religious law and order political bearing false witness about the criminal conspiracy afoot to violate the constitution and other throw the government.  This won't end until we start hanging all of these violent anti-American and anti-democracy radical extremist from trees.  They want to kill America.  They want a country where skin color and wealthy are what determines a persons worth.  They will kill to get it.  They have an army of violent brainwashed thugs to enforce their sick dreams.   America is shaking to its foundations.  We could see the republic fall before the year is out.

Pro tip: you can be totally honest when you say you believe in the constitution as long as you don't elaborate on what you believe it says

This is like the 2016 primary, and the 2016 election.

Trump has made it perfectly clear that his plan is not to "stay in office even after losing", it's to "never officially lose".

They might---might---mean it.

With RBG gone their 6-3 majority on the Court is assured, along with the implied Redcap veto on liberal legislation for years to come. So Trump is beginning to outlive his usefulness, reducing their incentive to offer more than token resistance to Biden's inauguration.
