Again, if you are getting your medical knowledge from Fox 43, Pennsylvania's #1 news source, just go sit in the garage with the engine running. Close the door. We don't want to bother the neighbors.

One can really kill you a lot and the other can only occasionally kill you.

Don't forget the covid longhaulers.

Stay home if you can, and wear a mask when you have to go out for essentials.

One has a proven shot for it out and the other one is in "I wonder if this is really going to work" phase.

Yearly average of flu deaths: 24-62K
Deaths from Covid: 200K

So it's more likely you'll die from Covid than the flu.

Tried that. It's been four hours, and I'm not seeing any improvements.

Damn these electric cars take a long time to discharge when you aren't moving...

I have allergies every year during the change of seasons to Fall and Spring...just my makeup, I suppose.  I have ALWAYS had a sore throat during that time.

If you want to greatly reduce the chances of having to ask, "Do I just have a flu, or is it the 'rona?" in the first place, get a damn flu shot. No, it's not total immunity to every flu, but they've got the 3 most common current strains for this year in there, so it's got a decent chance of blocking any flu you do get (since it's likely to be one of said strains), as well as helping to avoid getting flu AND covid at the same time.

If you do get sick, go to a doctor if you can afford to do so (because the US sucks like that), and get tested if there's any tests available in your state (because the US sucks like that too). If you can't, or there's no tests, assume it's a mild case of 'rona until it either goes away or turns serious, and quarantine or get your ass to a hospital as needed.

The advice they've been given us really hasn't changed in the last 6 months... numbers like fatality rate and effectiveness of various medicines are going to fluctuate as we get better data, but "wear a mask, avoid large groups, avoid unnecessary travel, quarantine if you're sick" has pretty much been the advice from the beginning.

You're allowed to say where a specific flu strain comes from?

flu isn't capitalized.

It's just like a flu.

And this is just like a cat.

One is type of cold you'll most likely get over
The other is a possible blood disease that nobody really understands fully yet and could possibly kill you.
