I guess in this moment I would ask Trump supporters, that based on the last four years, to predict what the next four years under Trump would look like. What will his policies look like? How will his pandemic turn out? Who will be left that would work from him? Will life be better or worse? Etc. What is your vision for a Trump victory?

They won't care about any of that. All they care is that 4 more years of Trump would mean 4 more years of cops' boots on the necks of minorities.

I have asked this question and the answer is. Tougher policies on China, more supply side economics, and further deregulation. This is what my upper middle class Trump supporter father tells me.

I made a joke in the good genes thread about how the GOP slogan is "EIN VOLK, EIN RIECH, EIN FUERER!"

At least I thought it was a joke...now I'm not so sure. Which is kinda scary to think about.

So why is the 'America First' guy spending so much damn time acting like he's the Israeli Foreign Minister, making deals for them?

Does the US State Dept. effectively run foreign policy for Israel too?  Why do Americans care so much?  I honestly don't really get it.

All that is zero to do with DJT and just standard GOP wankery.

Make them admit that they have no principles; that they just want to see people they hate being made miserable.

Eh, there are different definitions of "denier"....

I've heard some suggest the Holocaust never happened in any way, to the other side of the "denier spectrum" which merely suggests the total numbers are incorrect.

Generally, though, people dont identify themselves as deniers -- others do.

Jews are liberals in this country and vote for others more reliably than any other group.

They vote against Trump even though they're usually middle class and above. Trump can't imagine their motivation. Doing good is a blessing for Jews.

The idea that Jews hold a greater allegiance to their religion than their own country, otherwise known as "dual loyalty," is widely believed to be anti-Semitic.

Isn't the Good ol' motto 'God, Country, Family' or something like that?  Or God Family Country.  Basically your loyalty is in that order but God is always first.  It's certainly not specific to Jews.

Yep - all those exotic middle Eastern religions are like that. They all work out of the same book and worship the same imaginary playmate, so it's no surprise.

President Donald Trump reportedly suggested that Jews have a loyalty to their religion above other interests...

Yes, they should know their place and stick to telling people not to get abortions, and marriage is between a man and a woman.  It's the American way.

I believe we already know Trump's thoughts on them, "one of the good ones," similar to the incredibly small handful of Black people who he has worked with.

This isn't surprising, Trump is a bigot, to his core.

The Trumps have no clue how awful it looks to everyone else when they convert to different religions superficially and or accuse others of doing what they do.

"I visited every nook and cranny of the camp because I felt it my duty to be in a position from then on to testify at first hand about these things in case there ever grew up at home the belief or assumption that 'the stories of Nazi brutality were just propaganda.' Some members of the visiting party were unable to through the ordeal. I not only did so but as soon as I returned to Patton's headquarters that evening I sent communications to both Washington and London, urging the two governments to send instantly to Germany a random group of newspaper editors and representative groups from the national legislatures. I felt that the evidence should be immediately placed before the American and British publics in a fashion that would leave no room for cynical doubt."   -  Dwight D. Eisenhower - "Crusade in Europe"

Ike made sure to document every horror and atrocity to be seen at these camps because he knew what caliber of people he was dealing with at home, in both the US and England.  And, to an extent, it worked as intended, but only temporarily.  Holocaust deniers were generally scorned by society, and if you agreed with them, it was a surefire way to get yourself branded as a societal outcast.  But Ike had to know that, with enough distance and time from these events, that Americans would eventually turn their face from these images and, even the good hearted ones, would hand wave it as something that could never happen again and, more importantly, that could never happen here.

It could never happen here.

I believe it was our Vice President who said he is a "Christian, conservative, and Republican, in that order", yet somehow no one accuses him of dual loyalties despite the fact that "country" didn't even make the list
