President Trump on Wednesday nominated Allen Souza, a former aide to Rep. Devin Nunes (D-Calif.), to serve as the inspector general of the U.S. intelligence community, where he would replace an official that the president ousted in April.

Wonder how long it'll take for them to fix. He's a D all right, just not that kinda D.

At this point, I am actually starting to pity Biden if (hopefully) he wins.

He is going to have to spend the first year alone purging the system of Trump cronies.  It will likely take his entire first term to get the various agencies working the way that they are supposed to, without Trump's hand virtually up their arses dictating policy to them.

If he is lucky, and gets his second term, he *might* start to unravel the international clusterfark that Trump has landed the US in.

And somewhere in there, he gets deal with the pandemic, and the complete lack of a coherent response, an economy that has been flushed out to the septic tank and is floating with the turds, country wide racial and civil unrest, and trying to patch the very insttution of your government so that another Orange Shiat-smearing Gibbon can't try to compketely fark US democracy again.

Aren't you a carpenter or at least a good tradesman that builds bookcases and design counters? I'd say that's a pretty gawd damn fine step up from all the stuff we know about the cast in this crappy play.

So here's a virtual high five and puff, puff pass to ya.

There are a lot of highly motivated, well-qualified people who are appalled by the wanton destruction of the past few years and (I hope) will want to pitch in and help.

/I said a few months back that we're going to need a VP who can basically co-president due to the sheer amount of work
//maybe two

Devin Nunes is a wreck and anyone who has helped him is just as stupid, probably more stupid.

I'm reasonably certain none of us 3 are in a death cult. You, me, baron von doodle, we're all more qualified.

An aide? From the Nunes camp? To be inspector general?

Next we'll be hiring plumbers to run the pentagon.

I think it's something like the Borscht Belt.

/Which, honestly, is more where I think Trump gets his intel from.

Initial reports indicate that 45 at first wanted to appoint Devin Nunes to the position, but Nunes had a cow and Devin's Mom said "no."

Devin's grapefruit reportedly inconsolable.

Let's hope you are right.  But at the end of the day, this poor SoB is going to be the one responsible for managing it.

But, on the other hand, I do believe he would be a president for whom 'The buck stops here' will apply again.  Its amazing how much harder good people work when they feel responsible for everything going on below them.

Trump did not install him as intelligence IG. Trump nominated him as intelligence IG. He has to be approved by the Senate.

Wasn't Souza the guy putting bugs in Don's ear that Ukraine was corrupt and you couldn't trust them? He presented himself as an expert on Ukraine with no previous experience or training on Ukraine - he's a lawyer. So much so when the Intel Committee called Vindman - the actual expert on Ukraine - to testify, Trump was like "Who is this guy?"

Same difference.
