Purple_Urkle: And here I've been wasting emotions on all the pastors and Herman Cain who all died of Covid-19

Really? Huh.

Not me.

Purple_Urkle: And here I've been wasting emotions on all the pastors and Herman Cain who all died of Covid-19.

I may disagree with them but they were still my fellow Americans.

Perhaps I ought to reconsider developing empathy, a 10 year struggle, and regress to being a full blown psychopath.

We have cookies.

As I said in a previous thread, the day after RBG's death was announced, I drove my mother up from Houston to Fort Worth. She was smiling the entire time texting back and forth with my equally Republican brother. Both were thrilled that Moscow Mitch stole Garland's seat and now feel zero sense of shame of the hypocrisy of filling RBG's seat less than two months before an election Trump is likely to lose. It took everything I had not to completely lay into her....but that would have accomplished nothing but further increasing her (and my brother's) feelings of schadenfreude. So the entire time I had to act as if nothing was bothering me.

It was a loooooooong drive.

Paul Hackett: To be fair, if Kavanaugh died I would probably cheer. But it's because he's an attempted rapist and his appointment to the Supreme Court was a joke and a disgrace.

I agree with you.  And, if Trump clutched his chest and tumbled off his rally stage, I can't imagine not enjoying that.

But, then, he's responsible for 200,000 deaths in America, with more to come.

Hickory-smoked: Kangaroo_Ralph: HarveyBrooks: Nadie_AZ: No surprise. None. None at all. People cheered when MLK Jr was assassinated.

Most likely the same people.

There are a lot more Republicans than Democrats who agree with MLK that a person should be judged by their character rather than their skin color.

I WILL VENMO YOU $100 RIGHT NOW IF YOU CAN QUOTE ANYTHING MLK EVER SAID OR WROTE ASIDE FROM THAT ONE LINE

I have this one hanging in my office.

"Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity."

You'd think the guy was a modern day Republican! Just contribute the $100 to Trump's reelection. Thanks.

You're a stronger person than I am.

Had I had a parent that thought like that, I would have just pulled over, and asked them nicely to get out and find their own way home.

I have very little patience putting up with shiat like that, so I really wouldn't have given a shiat if it was in the middle of nowhere, either.

Yeah, I can't take the moral high ground here because I am farking throwing a party to celebrate Trump's death when it happens.

They KNEW people would cheer.

Which they would have no problem with, except it would make the news, so ... LOL, I mean, they're not so stupid they don't know what shiatty PR looks like.

Yeah, but what kind of cookies? That's right, oatmeal raisin. That's the kind of cookies you get with psychopaths.

slobberbone: Obvious tag in mourning?
The problem isn't the CIC or his supporters doing what you expect them to do. It would be news if they didn't.
The problem is you feel compelled to be "nice" or explain when they act like they are offended by anything.
They use you.
And you let them.
Please stop.
We don't have to treat them as poorly as they have treated us. But they don't deserve kindness.

Jesus Christ, this.

That's because you're still a good person.  A lot of people here on Fark are full blown psychopaths.

Joyfully celebrating the death of a Jew during a Jewish religious holiday isn't SOP?

When did this start?

Forget those measly 10 people, 60% of the American population would be sighing in relief.

Biden wouldn't encourage it, while looking like a 350 pound toddler who was just given two scoops of icecream.

It's pretty neat that after beating your head on your keyboard you end up with so many English words.

Especially impressive, since the keyboard has Cyrillic characters.
