I think Xenophobia and racism tend to get blended together if the country in question is predominantly made up of a race that is a minority in the country expressing the offense.

For example, put on dreadlocks and affect a Jamaican accent? People scream racism, but IMHO that's just a tangent. You're really just mimicking a culture. If I put on a toque and used a Canadian accent, nobody would seem to care.

Okay. Today we all believe the Congresswoman from Minnesota is allowed to criticize the way her/our country is being run. Those things she said to the NYT about how she exists to start fires and Democrats are running scared from their own shadow are... okay? Valid? Not a product of a few isolated fake progressives on the internet whom we are duty-bound to ignore?

Or do we believe her views should be ignored, but NOT on the basis of being a Somalian refugee? It's okay as long as we swear her race, gender and religion are nothing to do with it!

Truly, Donald Trump is a great uniter. I've never seen Democrats fall in line so fast. It's a shame he lacks all capacity to focus and we'll all be united about some other thing he hates tomorrow, or in a couple hours.

Either it's okay to criticize or it's not. I know Donald Trump is wrong, like, 99% of the time, but please don't wait for him to say something to work out how you feel about it. And don't run screaming away from your own well-reasoned (?) viewpoints just because he happened to agree with you. Do the work or you're never going to figure out where you went wrong or if you went wrong.

I was born in America. My parents were born in America, as were theirs. And I'm a white guy, so maybe my opinion will matter a little more to people like you, despite Omar being better qualified in every actual way.
If America actually stood for the ideals it preaches (liberty, democracy, equality, etc.) we'd be pretty damn good. Until we do that? Fark America. There's a farkton of shiat we, as a nation, need to make amends for, going back to our very founding, because that shiat is still affecting society and farking people over to this day. And we refuse to do so because of arrogant, ignorant nationalist pigfarkers who refuse to accept that America could ever have done anything wrong, or that it continues to do so.

If she grew up in a city since she was a child and didn't move there of her own volition, who are you to say where she's from.
