That was the outrage last month.

This month the outrage is the Supreme Court.  Next month the outrage is Breanna Taylor.  In November the outrage is the election and in December it's <insert losing party here> was cheated out of fair voting.

There's a road map and schedule.  Please try to keep up.

I have old notes then.  I have Breanna Taylor for this month, the war on Halloween next, then Election outrage for November and December.

Whats coming January, winter storms because climate change?  I plan on heading to Key West for vacation.

I already voted and my ballot's been accepted.  But it took them 10 days after receipt to update the tracking systems to show that my ballot had been received and accepted.  If even a small percentage of counties are as slow as mine, there's going to be a lot of anger.

We have to pretend there's no pandemic and that the handling of the pandemic by Republicans wasn't a complete disaster, to protect their feelings.

That's cause the "they" in question see school as only having 2 purposes. Firstly that as a government funded daycare service, and as a way to make more Football and other sports happen. Ac5ual learning is verboten to them.

You're not wrong.

That became painful obvious when I saw one of these "reopen the schools" protests and they interviewed one mom who said they wanted the schools to reopen because their child was on the tablet too much.

Because apparently that's the school's job.

Don't need the interviews  I have a coworker who is po cause the school would dare tell her unless her kids start behaving and wearing their mask all day long at school.  she going have to do all remote learning with the kids.

she claims

1.  she have to quit her job to do it cause between her and her hubby they can't afford to hire a babysitter that much.

2. at lest one of her kids is special needs.  and she don't have the training and such to handle keeping them focus at home to get their work done.

To her the school should just deal with it and let the kids not wear them.

There is. It's called ibuprofen. It brings down your fever, and it was/is common practice for workers to take before temperature checks at meat processing plants.

There is such a thing as rapid testing. One is a 24 hour turnaround, one is a 15 minute turn around. Anyone scheduled to ride on Air Force One, gets the 15 min test. Meanwhile, if schools are shut down two weeks after opening (we have two here already in Colorado Springs), every kid is considered possibly contaminated, and has to sit home in quarantine to wait it out. If they have symptoms, the tests can take anywhere from four to seven days. That's time off mom and dad can't afford. But at least Kim Kardashian and goddamned Donald Trump are safe, right?

This is farking surreal. Melting clock faces in the sun. Up is down, black is white, and we were always at war with East Asia.

My God, when will this farking nightmare end?

Because Kyle is the definition of an Alpha Male amiright?

I was a tall, skinny nerd in high school too and I still looked more "Alpha" than him and didn't need a gun to prove it.

TLDR version: It's comical to see what their examples of "Alpha Males" are.

I see the insanity. My district is openeing A/B groups of kids for 2 half days a week. Creating the 2 largest gatherings of humans in the county to give parents 2 half days off a week. With zero community input other than what is on Facebook.

They are giving up and forcing parents to be the bad guys by making kids stay home because their golf buddies are sick of their wives complaining about the kids. Its like they wanted the worst plan possible.

There's not a surplus of licensed teachers in WI, and any emergency licenses need to be granted by DPI. I'm guessing this isn't going to happen.

This is where things actually get interesting, because in WI, teachers ONLY have the legal authority to collectively bargain for wages thanks to Act 10. KUSD, by declaring virtual school, meant teachers are going to return "to work" in fewer than 3 days which is the point at which they can be terminated, but the state could decide it views the sickout as an unlawful labor action under Act 10 and decide "returning to work" means returning to work WITH kids in the classroom.

Evers being in the governor's seat and coming from DPI means this is unlikely to happen, but I honestly don't know who is actually responsible for enforcement in situations like this.

Of course, this is all basically moot as most large districts in the state have already moved to all-virtual learning under their own volition - KUSD was forced to by this, and Oshkosh was the original hold-out in my area but they ultimately made the call to do so yesterday (I am guessing the teachers here threatened with a sickout of their own).

That's what's happening in my house. What you consider a gullible sap is actually me just being prudent and nipping the silliness in the bud. "Get that stupid thing off your face" is the first thing we do when we exit a building, like the trampilone park where we put a mask on to enter and pay but take them off and aspirate all over the place for the next hour, or the restaurant where we mask up to go in, then sit and eat and talk unmasked...or the gym, where I wear a mask walking between machines, but then take it off and aspirate all over doing reps. Such idiocy is backed up by government order, so, yeah.

That's very interesting information, thank you.

I was specifically referring to the Air Traffic Controllers' strike referenced in the picture I was replying to. As much as people blame Reagan for "busting the unions", the problem was ATC workers had no right to strike. But it makes a nice smoke screen to hide the fact that both parties have abandoned organized labor by choice.
