One more time, with feeling:

WHAT A RUSH!

Damn. Another wrestling legend bytes the dust. It's a rough lifestyle, that.

/At least we've still got Demoltion.
//I know, they're retired, and Bill Eadie's older than both the Road Warriors would be (or were).
///But they're still here telling stories.

One of the things I like about pro wrestling is the spectacle.  The Road Warriors were the embodiment of that when I was a kid.  This is a big loss that hits hard.

Plus, he gave us that great burger and those wonderful fries at In-N-Out.

Watch the "Dark Side Of The Ring" episode on the Road Warriors. I'm not even close to being a wrestling fan and I thought it was great.

That's the second Survivor Series with all deceased members.  First one was Andre, Bravo, Rude, Perfect and Race from '88

If you survive the cocaine, steroids, life on the road, drinking, pain pills, sleeping pills, caffeine, nicotine, pain, head injures

You might make it to 65 as a pre RAW/Nitro wrestler

RIP Animal, Hawk is waiting for you to tag in at last.

Other than Ric Flair getting piledriven through a table after a match by Terry Funk in a tuxedo (which by 89 or 90 standards meant he died seven times over), Animal being handcuffed to the ropes while the Samoan Swat Team was beating the shiat out of Hawk was my other main memory of NWA.

NWA Power Hour, on at 0705 on TBS Saturday mornings. I've always been an early riser so that wasn't a problem, just had to keep the volume down low and not get too excited because your personal hero and lifelong inspiration was forbidden from watching pro wrestling.

WWF Wrestlefest was awesome. So many quarters, just gone.

Saw LOD at a house match in Houston in 1991. I was in the 6th grade. Even my mom thought they were awesome.

RIP Animal.

Remember first time I saw them in action (had seen pics of them in action from PWI), hearing "Iron Man" over the loudspeakers, then seeing them just destroy two jobbers while barely breaking a sweat made me think this was the most devastating tag team of all time.

In some ways they were like Andre in his prime: you really couldn't have them job to anyone, it would've killed the mystique behind them.

/RIP Animal
//Can hear "Iron Man" being played at the pearly gates

Hawk gets the hot tag to Animal one last time. Far too soon though.

And that was the last show of the classic WWF run where Hawk was off his face. Details are in the Dark Side episode.

I was so disappointed as a kid when my dad got tickets to Wrestlemania 8 here in Indianapolis, and Animal and Hawk only made a small appearance because as we learned later on Hawk had gotten suspended. They should have been in the match for the tag team titles. Years later while working with the crew for a local wrestling company including my friend Rob I got a chance to not only meet Animal, but to shake his hand and talk for a couple of minutes.

/Rest well.

At this rate, Hogan's going to be the only guy alive from that era.
