Jesus.

I went to Maui last year and hoped to get some surfing in.  Didn't.  when I saw the waves - "mere" 5-6 footers, I was like, "NOPE".  One, the waves were filled with more experienced surfers and I probably would have farked their day up but mainly, it was seeing the coral reefs.  eating shiat and slamming into a coral reef didn't sound lika fun.  the locals knew exactly where they had to go, to avoid reefs.

Pretty awesome to see live though.  Some of those guys were just amazing.

It's Nazare.

Anyone with even the most basic surfing skills could do what she did.

Fly to Portugal
Buy a board (as if you could check a board on a flight)
Pay the local shop to sail you out to the waves and pay someone else on a water-bike to tow you onto a wave.
Pay someone to film you
Stand up on your board for four seconds.
Not be talented enough to stay on the wave and avoid being crushed by 500k pounds of water.

Check this video out and watch what real talent can do with these monster waves.
