It's fine. My island and house are coming along nicely. I'm filling my museum. I like a full museum. There are still a lot of features from New Leaf missing from the game. I expect they'll all be added in future updates, as that seems to be what has been happening since the game launched.

I don't play every day but I check in at least a few times a week. There aren't many weeds but I need to tidy up the flowers growing everywhere. I've filled up the fossil section of the museum but it's going to take forever to get all of the art. One of my villagers sent me a painting the other day but it was a fake.

I've been working as an actor for some time now, mostly stage. This game has been a godsend to me this year since the entire theatre season has been cancelled. This game is basically just theatre. You build sets and collect props and costumes and Harv's Island lets you create locations.

I've been using the game lately to create a silly YouTube series that uses my Animal Crossing island as a location for a story. I've got three episodes done so far and I've been really enjoying playing the game this way. Now that they let us hide the in-game camera HUD it has gotten even better for machinema animation.

The Accordiona Board Of Tourism Presents: SE01 EP01
Youtube VcreeKlRll4

Episode Two. Tales from the Blue Weevil.
Episode Three. Gremblin's Story Tyme.

This is just a project to maintain my sanity during this pandemic. I'm not planning to develop it into something big like GGC was. I'm just writing little stories on my island, recording a voice over and then filming them and then improvising a score for the episode on my accordion. It's fun, and light and I'm not worried about making anything good, just scratching a lot of my itches that I have as a performer that have not been getting scratched since this pandemic started.

Basically this series is presented as different narrated films by four of the island's inhabitants, Shtan, The Commodore, Gremblin and Maido. I still have Maido's video to shoot but once I have the four prototypes finished I'm going to create a writer's bible because I have a lot of friends who are playwrights and screen writers and are also missing their theatre fix so I plan to let them write episodes which I'll just produce them on my own when I get the free time.

It's actually very fun to just create something for the sake of creating something. As long as the series keeps a viewership of only a hundred people or so I should be able to keep this up without feeling the same mental and physical strain I felt when I was doing GGC with an audience of hundreds of thousands. I'm not too keen on achieving that sort of fame again for a whole slew of reasons and luckily the nature of the internet now as opposed to when I started GGC is so different it is almost impossible to gain an audience for your stuff without spending a lot of money, so if you don't want to be famous it's pretty easy to ensure you never accidentally become famous.

In any case, the dream code for my island is DA-2618-0097-9243 .

If you are okay with your island being used in a future episode of The Accordiona Board Of Tourism Presents: then please feel free to reply with your dream code. I'll credit your island and dream code and any social media credit you might want associated with it in the credits if I use it.

Starz Island is thriving, i work on it a bit each day and have been doing tweaks here and there from time to time. my most recent addition was my long awaited  Robot hero so i could set up my centrally located battle scene between the hero and the Godzilla knock off along with redoing all the paths on my island, found every last fossil but i am still searching for the rest of the items.

Recently had Drake the duck move out  and recruited Rooney the kangaroo to move in.

Same.  Would've grabbed AC and BotW, but stopped looking when all the switches I could find were still being sold by scalpers at a 100% markup.

/Stopped caring probably around May.

I still log on to my "City Folk" town once or twice a year.

Sadly there really isn't anything for me to do but weed from time to time.  I had a "perfect" town, caught all the bugs, fossils, artwork, fish.

The only thing I NEVER saw was the UFO

I'm still checking in, at least briefly, every day.  I've got all the fossils, every other museum creature I can without time-traveling, and all but two flower breeds.  I'm also just one Guliver visit away from finally getting my giant robot.  I also have a cemetery for all of the residents that have come and gone since I first started the game.

I'm very happy with how my house is going, too.  I have a full arcade/game room upstairs, a trophy room downstairs, a room for some vinyl records, and a band room.

I think I played it for about a week, and quickly remembered something I'd realized with the Gamecube version:  God it's boring, there's nothing to do.  You play for 10 minutes, do a loop of the island digging up the fossils and talking to the villagers once each, then there's not really anything else.  Fishing and bug catching don't add much once you've collected all the varieties available that month.

I love games like Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons and Stardew Valley, but you can't peg a game like that to the real-world clock and spread its pace out over real-world months.  I respect that the slow pace is what some people find appealing, but without more different things to do and ways to keep playing, it feels more like a really short daily to-do list than a game.

I still log in daily, usually to check on flowers I'm breeding.  Though that is over now, after 3 months of flowers taking over my island, I have all the different colors for each type.
I make my rounds, dig up fossils, pick weeds, dig up flowers that aren't what I am breeding for, water everything if it isn't raining, talk to a few villagers, and bang rocks to get my money from them.

I am at the point now where I want to scrape whole sections of the island flat again and re-do them with different themes.  I started off with a very OCD placement of all the stores, villagers and buildings.  Now I want to make them more natural/freeform.

I do hope that the next few months (winter months) they introduce more stuff to do, because it is becoming kinda grindy.  But I also like that I can fire it up on a whim and shut my brain off for a couple hours at the end of the day.

My daily "chores" in the game now take about 10-15 minutes. Water a couple flowers I'm still trying to breed, talk to a couple residents I'm working on getting portraits from, check on the daily event, and that's it aside from bugs/fish at the start of each month.

Once in a while I'll spend time changing layout or doing other projects, but it's nice to just pop in for a bit. I'm grateful that villagers no longer move out spontaneously. So I don't have to worry about talking to everybody every day.

Also, for anyone fed up with wildflowers, use paths/fences. Flowers won't breed across non-dirt paths. So just set up what you want for flowers, lay a path, and no more dealing with flowers run amok after rainy days.

I so love Canberra. She's one of my 3 "permanents". Canberra, Sherb, and Wolfgang are never gonna leave my island. Everyone else I'll encourage to follow their dreams but I'm gonna be totally selfish when it comes to those three. Gonna do all in my power to keep them on my island.

I just love Canberra so much. I love her resting biatch face and how it works with her "sisterly" personality. I love how when she sees you after you've been stung by wasps her reaction is "who did this to you, Imma go fark them up" before realizing it's a wasp sting. I'm the oldest child so I've never had a big sister but in my mind that's what a big sister would be.

Sherb doesn't get to leave because god damn he is adorable and Wolfgang doesn't get to leave because I like having a grumpy old guy I can relate to on my island and even though I have Gaston who is also a grumpy personality, somehow his character design makes him seem like a divorced middle aged dad whose life has gone to shiat, where as Wolfgang with the exact same personality comes off as a sentimental loner. It's kinda interesting to deconstruct how we view the villagers since their dialogue is the same as everyone else of their personality type. But Wolfgang's appearance and house decor suggest a sentimental loner, Gaston's appearance and house decor suggests someone completely beaten down by life.
