Until Sharks management decides they want to win the Stanley Cup this position will be at most a 2 year job.  The last guy took them to the finals and last year to the conference finals.  After his firing in December he took over another team and lead them to the conference finals.  San Jose's real problem is Wilson.  Until they get rid of him they will never win the Cup.

Great headline, subby. Queue the obligatory Captain America pic.

Does this mean we get another one-sided "Bailey vs. Jennifer" tread?

A massive roster overhaul to clean up their mess of a cap situation would also help.

Oh, and how do you figure that is possible?  Is there a huge market for 35 year old defensemen on bloated contracts that don't end until the heat death of the universe?  Is somebody going to trade for a goalie that forgot how to hockey?

The roster is filled with untradeable contracts and they have $41M committed against the 2024-2025 cap(!!!).  Wilson went all-in figuring he could keep the team contending without any good young players (except Timo).  It turned out he was wrong and now they are going to suck for a very long time.

The issue was that Sharks management thought they could keep contending forever when in reality they should have torn the roster apart 2 years ago instead of chasing Erik Karlsson.

The Sharks also named Rocky Thompson as associate coach and John Madden as assistant coach.

How did they get an 80 year old ex-PGA player and an 84 year old football coach to learn how to skate so quickly?

/also Team Bailey, but I try to leave one in the chamber for Jennifer.

I said it would help, not that it was feasible.

There's always the "pay Seattle to take your bad contracts in the expansion draft" strategy

Do they need cap space or 1st round picks more?  I mean, the other option is 5 years of last place finishes...
