Time for a raid by INTERPOL.

TFA: "Money from a looted Russian bank where Vladimir Putin's cousin sat on the board was also filtered into the network, records show."

I love journalism where so much is going on in one brief sentence.

Nah, they were probably mad that Deutsche Bank was horning in on their territory.

BOA is just making sure its ass is covered. They were very willing, really enthusiastic participants in it until someone started sniffing around. Banks, without exception are always about profit, especially when their principals and top executives can take enough cash out of the system to completely insulate themselves from the effects of their thievery. When it crashes, they go with their hats in their hands and act all humble and contrite to Congress for a small "loan" to keep the company afloat for another year, and then just put that in their pocket like they did in 2007. Then they go to Congress again and ask for the "loan" to be forgiven so they can afford to declare bankruptcy and shift the entire debt load onto the taxpayers.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

And now we know why Merkel has been mostly silent on Trump's crimes. I was suspicious somebody had something on her, and the possible collapse of Deutsche Bank alongside him might be that something.

I hope the FinCEN documents get incorporated into the ICIJ's "Offshore Leaks" database.
That is a great tool for playing "connect the dots".

Too bad most folks are more interested in "Starlet Bimbo Got Drunk and You Won't Believe What Happened Next", and "Confirming and Validating Your Ignorant, Hateful Beliefs; Does This Get You To Click?"

The details are interesting, but the general trend of the article is no surprise - Deutsche Bank has clearly been happy to handle dirty money for many years. Same with HSBC.

That same year, Russian authorities suspended Financial Bridge's trading license on suspicion of money laundering.

I presume that should read "on suspicion of not money laundering very well."

Also, didn't the nationalized Russian oil company hire Germany's former PM?   German Russian relations have come along way since Hitler/Stalin's non aggression pact when to hell.

Deutsche Bank needs to be shut down. It's been clear it's just a money laundering organization for a long time.

Douche Bank realized in the 90's that they were suckers and were missing out on massive revenue streams from criminals, drug dealers, terrorists and corrupt countries. That's where the money came from to lend to Trump.

Chancellor, but yes. Gerhard Schroeder is Chairman of Roseneft and Nord Stream AG. The later is the natural gas pipeline company that sends Russian gas directly to Germany and so bypassing Ukraine.

It's a funny thing:

in 2015 Deutsche bank announced that they were setting aside $15 BILLION  to pay potential fine from US regulators caught their "Wealth Management" division ( a branch that loans out money of wealthy individuals rather than the bank's money) of laundering massive amounts of Russian Mob money.     Then 2016 happened and in 2017 the US announced its fine:  Just under 1 billion.

Now, by a staggering coincidence, back in 2009 when Donald Trump sued DB for making him loans he couldn't pay back arguing that a bank would have had to have been crazy to loan HIM money given his track record (yes this really happened)   the case was dropped after the wealth management branch made him new loans of some $860 million , some $650 million of which went to pay back Main DB.     Now whose money do you suppose DBWM  used to make those loans?

I wonder if this had anything to do with the failed merger between NYSE Euronext and Deutsche Bank. I know the European regulators killed it, but I wonder if Obama's DOJ had any input.

Might as well post my CSB Deutsche Bank story again: In 2005, Deutsche Bank loaned the former owners of my house $400k.  At some point in 2007 or 2008, they stopped paying the loan and DB foreclosed on the house.  In 2009, Deutsche Bank sold the house to me for $150k, for a quarter million dollar loss for them.

/the house is now worth at least $400k again

Not only did they pass the buck, they also took 10% off the top in processing fees.

It's how bankers make money.

How many people here think that the Eastern Bloc turned this bank into their money front back in the 50s?
