This article is rife with oddly specific denial that makes me sick.

"We don't try to control people,"

"If and when members hold political offices, or judicial offices, or administrative offices, we would certainly not tell them how to discharge their responsibilities."

"And there's never any guarantee that the leader is always right. You have to discern and act in the Lord."
(which the leader always says he does, so you need to do as he says without question)

Yeah, and according to Nixon, Nixon wasn't a crook.

In in 2020, reporting the truth is a smear campaign because right-wing people have gone so far right, they have fallen off the edge of the earth.

One of the individuals reportedly topping President Donald Trump's shortlist to replace Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader-Ginsburg belongs to a religious group that believes husbands should rule over their wives, among other highly conservative and traditional beliefs.

I was hoping for some kinky dom/sub stuff in the article. Leaving disappointed.

vygramul: I want him to nominate Alex Jones or Ivanka or Julian Assange. I want to see someone incredibly bad nominated just to see what the GOP will tolerate. Because if it's anything, we should be informed of such.

Harriet Miers would like a word.

Then again, it was sort of a different GOP.  The pupal stage of what it is today, I guess.

Biden just has to put a man on the court next who can tell her to stfu and sit down, and she'll instinctively comply since it's an order from a man.

The entire GOP is a cult.

Cult (n):
1) a system of religious veneration and devotion directed toward a particular figure or object.
2) a relatively small group of people having religious beliefs or practices regarded by others as strange or sinister.
3) a misplaced or excessive admiration for a particular person or thing.

So, if approved, her husband will actually be the Supreme Court Justice, seeing as she will vote the way he tells her to?

My guess is President Trump didn't have the slightest idea who to pick and Veep Pence came in with the idea. She seems like his pick, an ultra religious person who submits to her husband. I'd be surprised is Pence's fingers weren't on this.

Irrelevant, and if used against her in the hearings, a violation of the Constitution of the United States of America:

https://www.archives.gov/founding-docs/constitution-transcript
Article. VI.
All Debts contracted and Engagements entered into, before the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be as valid against the United States under this Constitution, as under the Confederation.
This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.
The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.

If you're saying she can't be confirmed because of her religious beliefs (or lack thereof, if that applied), that's a flat-out violation of Article VI.

Doesn't matter if she's in a "cult" or not.   It's a blanket prohibition with no exceptions.

If you truly believe that life begins at conception, will she push that we get rid of birthdays as official legal standards for age?  How do we determine conception days? Government installs little video cameras in every woman's womb?  Also, how do we retroactively apply this to the born, just use 9 months? What is a month... 30.4 days?  Also, if you believe abstinence prevents pregnancy, was Mary a liar?

I'm fine with her believing that husbands should rule over their wives. She can do that for herself. Now if she carries that to the point where she's letting other women get abused by their husbands with no legal recourse then I think she's going to need a boot to the backside before she can say 'Hail Mary!"
