We Ate the Necco Wafers: WTF is your problem, China? Chill the fark out.

The Chinese think they that China is the center of the universe (seriously - that's a part of their cultural history). They consider themselves to be superior to every other civilization.

In a sense, this keeps foreign relations with China from getting *too* crazy. China thinks of the rest of the world as an annoyance that has no real effect on them. But sometimes...they want to demonstrate their power. And that's when things get tense.

They are arrogant beyond belief, basically. Even more so than the United States. China negotiates from a standpoint of "You don't matter at all". The United States negotiates from a standpoint of "We're more powerful than you, so you will do what we ask".

Nonrepeating Rotating Binary: Just think how much howling there would be if an American organization made one about bombing China.

Farking hypocrisy.

You're not allowed to use the word "China" anymore.

It offends the Chinese.

For about half a century, we negotiated from a standpoint of "We're more powerful than you, and we aren't the USSR, so you will do what we ask."
