My sister is an alum and she is beyond excited about this. I asked if the school was ready for "Prime Time" and she he has a lot of work cut out for him. Will he tackle their problems? Did he actually tackle while a defensive back?

Good luck. He has no experience coaching beyond the prep level and even then it's only a few years. It would be like getting on a 737 piloted by a guy with 200 hours in a Cessna 172.

I don't see this ending well. Deion loves the spotlight. Good luck finding the spotlight coaching a D 1-AA school that's a HBCU to boot.

This is another Thunder Dan Majerlie hire.

All the assistants will do the dirty work, while Deion preens on the sidelines.

I doubt he lasts more than two years.

Has there been a more dynamic DB since Sanders?

KR, PR WR and CB.Although, I would have found it hilarious had he tried to play safety.

The phrase olé would have been the best way to describe that.

As a lowly private pilot, I resemble that remark.  Future headline followup: "Primetime canceled after one season".

You could make an argument that Walter Payton is the second greatest FBS HBCU player only behind a certain WR from Mississippi Valley State.

Fair.  I could argue for either one.

I was going to post a compilation of Sanders' hardest tackles but Fark doesnt support files that small.

This isn't gonna end well.  But Jackson State will get an influx of enthusiasm and Sanders will get the spotlight for a bit, so both sides will get what they want.

I'll still never forget one time, the Bears were playing Dallas on MNF.  Deion went after a TE's ankles.  The TE jumped over him, but inexplicably dropped the ball while untouched in mid-air and Dallas recovered.  The commentators went on for like five minutes solid about what a wonderful tackle Deion made.

Mind you, I have zero quarrel with Sweetness. I actually stopped by the Jackson State campus on a 2003 road trip just to see if I could find Walter Payton shrines. That was my first favorite player when I was six years old.

Does this mean I no longer have to suffer his interviews and ego-inflating on how important his opinion is?

Athletes for whom the sport comes to easily do not make good coaches.

Nope. Payton carried the Bears. SF won a Super Bowl with Freddy Solomon at WR.
