Don't worry he's just triggering the libs. Unless he's not, then you can worry.

The maghats will laugh that you get so worked up over the President subverting democracy, they would never work themselves into a lather over something so minor.

So let's see, talking about a third term, contesting a result where he doesn't win, and now talking about making a candidate illegal.

Talks about 'good genes', concentration camps with forced sterilization, uses mercenaries as police who disappear protesters, whose AG wants to prosecute dissenting voices as sedition, with a rubber-stamp political party platform, and wants proactive arrests. Beholden to a Russian dictator.

Vote.

But I would guess they don't see it fascism, just doing what needs to be done

So here's the confession, thrown out as an accusation, explaining his bizzaro behavior at all those campaign speeches press conferences at the White House? He's not just snorting Adderall, he's getting big fat shots in the a**?

It's an important distinction. A Russian-style oligarchy-led economy doesn't fit into the communism/nazism/fascism model, but is very much totalitarian in nature. Everyone yells the -ISMs back and forth like a Miller Lite commercial while ignoring the greater issue.

This is how he takes the temperature of his base, he says something utterly ridiculous and outside the bounds of common decency, and the law and if he gets cheers he starts working on it in his administration. Our government has been bastardized by this bastard.

You know...why didn't Obama think of that? You know, when there was increasing evidence of foreign influence and campaign funding irregularities?

I think Obama was one of the best Presidents of this century, which in fairness, is a tiny pool, but this particular failing to suspend Donnie's campaign was the single most horrific misstep his Administration took. I understand the reasoning behind it, I understand not wanting to plunge the nation into Constitutional crisis, but damnation it would have saved a lot of lives, a lot of cash, and a lot of jobs.

2020-09-20 1:14:37 PM
Of course this cannot be done. Trump has no sense of humor but he has a sense of how to push buttons and that's what he's doing here.
He's also firing up his base to think he is a lord god emperor deserving of the power to do such a thing.
Saddest thing is our democracy used to be respected enough that no one used to do this kind of shiat.
Even when Bush said "only thing better would be a dictatorship, as long as I'm the dictator," everyone knew it was hyperbole and joking. He wouldn't do that if it was possible.
Trump absolutely would.

I literally said "vote," in both posts, but yeah, when you're dealing with a president that won election by losing, and where some polling places are so ill equipped to deal with their communities that they face 8 hour waits, and other avenues of voting are under attack, then... Yeah, maybe voting isn't the end all be all of being proactive against America's descent into fascism?

Yeah, people will protest. But I mean, I've encountered plenty of people that are like "these riots are bad, they need to vote," as if the thought of voting against police brutality had never occurred to people, and it's got me on a hair trigger these days, 'cause there's still way too many people caught up in aesthetics over substance.
