On June 19, the day afer Trump and his campaign shared the video, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany defended the president during a press briefing, saying that he was attempting to make a "satirical point."

No, he wasn't. He was setting up a strawman. I know this is hard for you to understand, but that's not the same thing.

That reminds me, I met a racist toddler once, who was still learning to pronounce things properly.

It was a hot day outside, and his parents were constantly trying to get him to hydrate, to drink from his sippy cup. He wasn't having it though, and proceeded to go into a racist tsntrum.:

I bet Trump's response is the he was just noting what some people are saying. He and his campaign bear no responsibility for what Logan Cook created. Sure, Cook and his family had a 20-minute meeting with Trump[ in the WH in June 2019 but Cook hasn't been directly paid by Trump.

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany defended the president during a press briefing, saying that he was attempting to make a "satirical point."

Let's look at the meaning of political satire, shall we?

"Political satire is satire that specializes in gaining entertainment from politics; it has also been used with subversive intent where political speech and dissent are forbidden by a regime, as a method of advancing political arguments where such arguments are expressly forbidden."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_satire

So McEnany seems to be making the point that with this video Trump was taking a stand against political correctness by making a "humorous" statement which illustrates a "truth" that the popular culture "won't "allow" him to say.

Aside from the fact he is callously using kids as political props (not the first time he has done this, is it?) he is abusing the meaning of the word satire.

Satire is at heart a humorous way to reveal and illustrate uncomfortable truths. When it is used to tell lies, it definitely ain't satire. It's something else altogether.

To simplify things I will call the doctored video what it most clearly is- a lie.

Then you haven't been paying attention to all the other BS Trump has been putting out for the past few decades, let alone the last 4 years.

Wait 'till you hear 'bout what true capitalists Betsy Devoid has come up with regarding high-interest loans for Mortuary Studies degrees and Ben Carbon with a program to buy up all the homes being sold, due to COVID, for pennies on the dollar.  200,000 dead is just the beginning of the death-based economic boom these necro-scumbags have planned.  Why else would you fark over the whole healthcare industry during a pandemic if there wasn't money in it?

Really wouldn't surprise me in the least. When I first heard of the hysterectomies in passing, I thought it was a far fetched rumor. Then I started reading articles about it.
In short, nothing shocks me anymore. Not that I was ever much shocked what comes from these people.
Although I'm predicting quite a backlash in the next five years. Gotta be careful swinging that pendulum. Go too far right and it will swing just as far back left. I think there's gonna be even more violence coming no matter who wins the election. I think it's gonna get worse. It has to because no one has learned a goddamn thing yet. Very few have changed for the better.

I mean, Trump's always going on about libel.

Falsely editing a video to accuse someone of being racist when it's more or less physically impossible for them to be racist and the original version of the video implies, if anything, the opposite, is what libel actually looks like.

... he's crossed the rather high threshold of offense required to actually be guilty of libel.

Against.

Didn't the original video show a black kid and a white kid running at each other hell-bent on hugging each other to death in a ritual of... no?  Just two kids who don't know enough yet to hate each other showing how much they love each other?  Damn, that's some cold-ass propaganda material right there.

It's just two happy kids!  fark anybody for trying to paste any kind of anything on top of that.  Happy happy joy joy is a goal unto itself, mutherfarkers.

The original video is crazy adorable. The whole point of the original was to show that little kids do not see skin color. They run to each other and embrace, with the sheer untarnished joy little kids naturally have in seeing someone they love. But of course, everything Trump touches, turns to absolute shiat. He's now permantly smudged and crapped all over their names and wonderful example.

Parents should take need. Anything you share about your kids online can be picked up, put through a blender of racism and hatred, them shiat out and and put forth for all to see.

Every single day, we see and hear multiple examples of Trump proving himself to be one of the worst specimens of human kind.

We need to vote him and every Republican representative out of office; try them for their crimes of treason, perjury, corruption, and gross negligence (e.g. the over 200,000 needless COVID - 19 deaths). Imprison every one of them  - including Jared, Ivanka, and the two other Trump assholes, all of whom, are guilty as sin.

Look, I'm 54 and I'm old enough to remember when a white and black couple with kids was a big goddamn deal.  I remember my Mom talking about Tiny and Betsy, the two black kids who made it into our white world.  Mom told me they would always have some kind of problem justifying their existence...  Jebus Keerist! Tiny was huge and a great guy at 9 years old, and I loved his little dingbat sister named Betsy.  Then I learned none of that was allowed.  There still wasn't a whole lot of love between the races in 1974.  We moved a few months later.

In about 2007 I re-met Betsy, who told me about Tiny.  He did turn out to be a monsterly-large black man who had every bit of grief from cops.  He was a loving social worker type guy.  The stories she tell are horrible, I can only guess the stories he tells are edited for his sister and are much worse in reality.  I hate that I still call him Tiny, his name is much more respectable, like James or William, but that's not how I know him.  I just know that he turned out to be an exceptional person, which is nice.  When I re-met Betsy she was in a position appointed by the governor, so those black kids from the wrong side of the 1974 tracks did damn well, dontcha think?  Unbelievable when we were kids.
