If it wasn't for the Washington fight song, the Cowboys wouldn't exist.

absolutely gorgeous.  I prefer Toyota Jan (noting they seem to have moved on from her;  you still see her from time to time but not as much you used to.)

But she's delicious.

rickythepenguin: GypsyJoker: Charles Napier. Also the leader of The Good Ol' Boys in The Blues Brothers. (Among many other great roles.)

I know him most as the general in the Austin Powers franchise.  a fantastic "That Guy" actor.  Died not long ago as I recall; 2-3 years?

I shared a few beers with him one afternoon in the restaurant/bar my stepdad was tending bar for, back in the 90's. I think Charles Hallahan, a regular at that place (The Ramp) and the police captain on Hunter, had brought him in with him one day. Both of them were really nice guys.

Danger Avoid Death: But Redskins has always been so blatantly racist that I couldn't even believe they used it when I was a kid back in the 80's.

I have zero issue with the US Army naming its rotary wing combat division "Apache", "Comanche", "Chinook", "Kiowa" and so on.  it is kinda cool actually.  There are honorable ways to honor the Indian Tribes, and "Redskin" is 100% not one of them.

KC Chiefs?  No problem.  Now, white guys showing up in headresses and feathers and peace pipes, there's an issue.  it's not the name, it's the conduct.  but with WAS, it was the name.

I'm confused by what happened in the Ravens/Texans game that they put 3 seconds back on the clock, allowing FG kick. Anyone watching that could explain it? Is it because the Ravens D wouldn't let the receiver up to get in formation?

2020-09-20 5:52:26 PM
Played terribly the first half with a QB and gameplan the team didn't expect, yet KC is only down one score. Let's go.

yeah he checked out in 2011.  I also forgot he was COL Murdock in Rambo 2 and had a key role in Silence Of the Lambs.

RIP Mr. Napier.

Yep, not happy, but it SHOULD have been much worse.

Man, SD has a crazy good D line.

Yeah, I mean, change the color of the name and could you just freaking imagine your team being named that without sparking a riot today?

Blackskins? Brownskins? Yellowskins? Whiteskins?

Okay, admittedly that last one would probably only provoke a snicker and a "Really? Why would you do that?"

Redskins is the product of a bygone era of casual racism that should stay f*cking bygone.

My impression was that the ref bumped the ball after getting it back, had to replace the ball, and they put the extra time on because of that mistake by the ref.

Didn't see it but your guess is correct.  If the defense does some farkery, "accidentally" not letting the ref spot the ball in a time sensitive situation, or if the defense takes their sweet farking time walking back acrosss the LOS, preventing the offense from getting a play off, they will put time on the clock.

"defense, #76, took a nap and had a sandwich while the offense was in formation, please put 6 seconds back on the clock."

Brady Quinn criticizing a QB for accuracy always makes me laugh.  From memory he finished his NFL career with I think a -2 TD/INT ratio.  something like 12TDs to 13-14INTs.

We get it, he's handsome.  He's not a great analyst.

Worse. 12/17, with a grand total of just over 3k yards passing in four years.

The CBS announcers look like they're all seated at the world's loneliest nightclub.

They need candles on each of the tables and sad, half-finished drinks sitting on soggy cocktail napkins.

I don't think it was a screen like Romo said.

No blockers.

Their D line is just dominating, we need to get Mahomes mobile to keep them from penetrating so fast.

Damn, great job by Dobbins keeping on his feet through that tackle. Kid's got promise.
