Keaton Lego Batman!

$200 (lego.com), cheaper than the $250 for the 1989 Batmobile

I remember a story on Not Always Related once: the poster's kid had just seen The Dark Knight, and declared not only that it was the greatest movie he'd ever seen, but that it was just impossible to make a bad Batman movie. So the parent showed him Batman and Robin. The kid was left staring in disbelief. "That... was possibly the worst movie ever made."

Damn. That might end up on my shelf.

False.  Mask of the Phantasm didn't even have the Batwing.

Yeah, it just had those weird flying deathballs. But what's that got to do with Batman?

I have to tap out. I just can't afford LEGO anymore... and if you don't buy it within a couple of weeks, the price skyrockets to double and never goes back down ever again.

Unless you really care about the complete sets just start buying in bulk on eBay. I've picked up about 10 pounds worth for around 40 bucks total.

SACRILEGE!
Or, you know, build something else that looks like a bat.
Like a Bat-Boat. Or a Bat-Submarine (patent pending)!

Then you're looking in the wrong places. I have the Lego Hogwarts. Bought it just before released about 2 years ago when it was £350. It's still £350.

But yeah. Official Lego sets never depreciate in value, and it's when they're discontinued that the prices shoot up on Ebay & Amazon. Fake crap like Lepin loses 50% of its value on purchase then once the set is built it's worthless.

The only Lego set Id fork out big $$$ for is the Ghostbusters firehouse, but I havent seen it under $700.

The awesomeness of initially seeing that ship fizzles out once you realize it got taken out by a single bullet. I don't care how ridiculously cartoonish the gun was.

I tried to buy a knockoff on wish for $140 and it disappeared. Got the money back though.

They got a great racket going for bits of injection molded plastic thrown in a box where you have to assemble it.

I wish I could come up with a similar product.

To be fair, I'll pay a shiatload for a guitar I want, lol.

Very nice, too much for my wallet and i really do not like the wall hanging idea. I have built enough lego sets in my day to know that there is always a risk of coming how and finding that it had fallen and busted into pieces.

yeah it got that special wall mount brick but it still feels too risky to me with oput gluing it together which i would not do.   That said odds are some of these will never get unsealed let alone built.

It could be like my Saturn V, where it is mostly black and white on the outside but the core structure uses a lot of various brightly colored bricks to keep it from getting dull and to make it easier to find the pieces you need.

Also why they are us d in place of currency when buying drugs or other "services". For once, the police are not overstating things. The last time I saw my friend about something I wanted to buy in cash, I noticed stacks of unopened Lego sets (used to be electronics, but all of those connect now and are difficult to move). He explained the general concept.

This article does better.

I'm working on this one:

Difficult piece. Once certain sections are completed it is fairly stable. Until completed, it kinda falls apart if you aren't careful. Too many interlocking supports during building.

Beautiful piece though.

2020-09-19 11:20:37 PM
And I will never cheat using glue.... Unless I try to build the first Death Star kit. Even when completed, that one falls apart if you look at it wrong.

They should have shown him the 1960's "some days you just can't get rid of a bomb" movie just to see what he would make of it.

Also, anyone doing the Batplane set  should feel shame if they don't do a wall mount with a hidef printout of a full moon. If you have the wall space, I suggest this image.
