Grant Williams, king of hand slaps leaves Brown hanging after the first free throw.

Looking like the Celtics will get the win here and we'll get a few days of talk about what a great meeting they had after Game 2 and how it really changed the team's trajectory.

jaylectricity: I don't have room for another podcast, but I'll give it a listen. Do they have guests? Sometimes I check out a new podcast with an episode with a guest I know.

Actually, it looks like Anything is Poddable is just a Celtics podcast they appeared on.  With Jay King and Sam Packard, who I haven't heard of.

Anything is poddable is not their podcast.

Yeah.  But it looks like they're featuring Grant/Tacko episodes somehow:

Yeah, what you said.

Maybe it's an umbrella situation.

Looks like they have five episodes, but I don't think they're doing them right now, what with this other important business going on.

Tatum with 10 boards and 7 assists already. Looks like he didn't adhere *too* closely to Kobe's lessons.  Too many assists

They can't crack the 20 point lead.

Great job staying on Robinson, to this point

When I heard he had 10 rebounds I started wondering if he had a shot at the triple-double.

Thanks for digging up the assists stat.

/digging up may be giving you too much credit

They can't let Miami finish this quarter on a run.

Here it comes . . . no pressure . . . don't get nervous

Worthy looked like a photograph, but he blinked at the last second.

Jesus...starting to look a bit sloppy.

Boy that's a dumbass foul from Nunn

When you watch a game where one team is playing better than the other, typically they take a big lead, then the other team fights back a bit, but before they catch up the better team makes a couple shots and stops the bleeding. Then they go back up big.

I've seen it a hundred times. My team is getting crushed, then they give me hope with a good run, get within five or something, then next thing you know they're down by 20 again.

I'm so glad there's zone defense in the NBA.  All that iso-ball while 8 guys stood around looking bored used to be my least favorite thing about the NBA

He's bleeding...extra 2 minute minor.

They have Dragic locked down tonight. Can't let him go off in the 4th.

Waiting for fatalvenom to pop in when he sees there's over 50 comments in an NBA thread.

I just downed about 250ml of 100 proof liquor over the last half hour or so.

Let's see how that works out for me.

Lock down Dragic, deny Robinson.  Nice work.  Robinson only has 2 attempts.

Damn...like the green arches with Jaylen's shot chart.

Earlier they were forcing Robinson to defend, going right at him. That's why he had 3 fouls in the first half.

I always think in these situations...figure out how many points they could possibly score in this quarter if they get hot. Add that to what they have going into the quarter. Score enough to get past that.

So they had 74. They could score 40. That would put that at 114.

Celtics just need 19 more points in this quarter.

Oh, wtf...earlier Marcus Smart was way more set than that and he got a blocking foul.

2020-09-19 10:42:07 PM
And I thought that was a makeup call, but I guess with review the refs will have to figure out how to make it up on a different play.

Or not. Like all fans of all teams, I believe my team is getting screwed because I only remember the calls that go against us.

2020-09-19 10:42:39 PM
They've got to get some combination of Butler/Dragic/Robinson loose, may be a project for Spo's game 4 planning.  Celtics seem to have their number for now.  Butler started making hustle plays for turnovers around this time in the last 2 games

2020-09-19 10:42:56 PM
Also, I don't like to call myself a fan.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I'm not fanatic.

I just like watching the game and hoping my team wins.

Very "Assassin's Creed" heavy commercial for that PS5.

Can't crack 20 point lead...maybe this time down the court.

Wanamaker...NOPE.

A third of the quarter has gone by. They only scored four of the 13.3 points they needed in that time. So now it's 26.6 plus those 4. So they can only get to about 104 now.

Celtics just need 4 points to put this game away.

I'm that way with UK now, and really barely watch college ball.  Not very good basketball anymore, and the NBA is very good basketball.  Never been better imho.

I don't even really have a favorite NBA team, I just love to watch good basketball.  Both of these teams are fun to watch, I really enjoy them.  The Nuggets to a lesser extent, these Lakers usually not much at all.  Except when Playoff Rondo shows up

I can't believe the universe may allow Dwight Howard to get a ring

Those in foul trouble are not as worrisome now. I thought if Theiss fouled out early in the fourth they might be in trouble.

Haymaker from Brown

2020-09-19 10:51:10 PM
Jaylen Brown has been a monster. And what I was hearing, and also what I was saying, is he was not getting the ball for whatever reason. Game 2 he hit some big shots to give them a chance to win near the end of the game. A lot of that yelling and screaming was probably Brown saying, "I can play...get me the ball." And he's smart enough to know he doesn't need to do everything...just let him do his part.

Celtics need 2 more points.

2020-09-19 10:51:29 PM
Missed 15 straight 3s!!  That's a Rockets playoff performance

He made the kind of play there that Butler has been making.  Good stuff.  He's been moving really well off ball tonight on offense

2020-09-19 10:53:05 PM
Just over half the quarter, Miami has only scored 14. So they're about 12 points short of being able to get 40. 28 plus 74 is 102.

So even if they start scoring the way they would have needed to to get 40 now...they don't have enough.

2020-09-19 10:56:46 PM

jaylectricity: Kendrick Perkins cracks me up. He's on the Celtics pre- post-game and halftime shows on the local Celtics channel.

When they did the black and white thing earlier Perk looked like he was in a coffin.

They have not had the open looks they're used to.

If the Celtics have come to their senses, they are pretty good at defending the three. Just a lackadaisical effort for parts of the first two games.

But they'll have to be ready for Spoelstra's response.

2020-09-19 10:58:43 PM
Now they're scoring in-line with what could have gotten them 40 points for the quarter.

I'd bet the farm they don't get to 104.

2020-09-19 11:00:15 PM
Again...the losing team starts to creep back into the game, then the better team starts to pull away again.

2020-09-19 11:01:03 PM
Count on one more three pointer from the Heat.

Looked like a nice knockout punch in a boxing match

I don't know...that was a pretty natural basketball move. Robinson just got his face in the arc.
