MikeyFuccon: The Redcaps know that. Hence all the effort on voter suppression.

A party that only appeals to poorly-educated whites in the poorest parts of white America has no future on the federal level.

If said party actually did anything to help those people rather than "we hate who you hate," I wouldn't have that big a problem with it.

/I said "those people"

Kangaroo_Ralph: Well yeah... once you allow rampant fraud and criminalization to take hold, it's difficult to get rid of.

So because the last Republican governor was indicted on corruption charges, it's the Democrats fault?

DrD'isInfotainment: It seems to be true of New Hampshire as well. Everyone thinks it's a GOP State but it has gone blue since Obama in 08 and has stayed that way.

Iowa's gone blue in three of the last five presidential elections.

Well, Virginia IS for lovers (of democracy, freedom, diversity, and equality), after all.

If you're a MAGA-lover, try Louisiana. I hear the swamps are lovely and deep.

Democrats are like lice or bedbugs.

Well which is it?
If I were a louse, I would have to live on someone's body.
If bedbug, I live in the dark, cool places between your sheets.

I'm going out clothes-shopping soon so please let me know.

Lord_Moldypants: That is so baffling to me. What does he have to do to get people to realize that he is a terrible person and unfit for any kind of public office?

You don't understand. They don't vote for Trump because they like him.

They vote for Trump because they hate you.

So you're saying your body is infested with Democrats?

Actually, he's saying that they need to be wiped off the face of the earth.  Because they're vermin in his mind.

Conservatives are awful, but I just can't think of them as vermin.
Actual "vermin" have a productive role in the ecosystem. Actual "vermin" would in fact be missed if they were all suddenly exterminated.

The fact that it took HOURS on election night 2016 to call VA for Clinton was what sent me to bed knowing I'd wake up to President Trump.

Get going on the rest

Against all odds, Arizona seems to be next.

Lord_Moldypants: dababler: Lord_Moldypants: The 2016 Electoral Map would like to have a word with subby.

Yeh really let's ask Wisconsin and Michigan!

And Pennsylvania too.  What's your point?  Trump won those states, which are traditionally blue states, by narrow margins.

Narrow, questionable margins.

Walker: Michael Moore makes some good points about Michigan here, which he knows a little bit about. Yes, I know he's fat but he still makes some good points.

His being fat is not why his better points get lost in his bullshiat points.

Lord_Moldypants: desertfool: HeadbangerSmurf: I've really got to start treating Fark like I treat Facebook and ignore the assholes as soon as I see them in a thread.  If they don't get a response they'll go away.  Right?  RIGHT?!  Should be fun to see what happens with Michigan once the new maps are in place.  I'm seeing more Biden/dem signs this year than Trump signs.  In 2016 there were way more Trump signs and not nearly as many Clinton signs as there are Biden signs, at least in the area I'm in.

I my area of Wisconsin there are more Biden signs than there were Clinton signs, but holy hell there are a lot of Trump signs.

That is so baffling to me.  What does he have to do to get people to realize that he is a terrible person and unfit for any kind of public office?

Not appoint pro life judges. Not be racist.

That's his base. That's 40% of American voters. They literally don't care about anything else. They're happy to destroy the country as long as he pretends to oppose abortion and is racist.

"Ever think that Republicans might be scared of votes being manipulated because they do it to each other all the time? From what I've experienced, they are always trying to one up each other with power plays. If they can't even build a platform big enough for all conservatives, how the hell will they ever build a vision for our future that is truly inclusive?"

It's a purple state.  In 2016, it was a very slim margin in favor of Clinton.  It currently has a Republican governor on pace to get reelected and while it currently has 2 Democratic Senators, that could easily go either way in a given election.

Perhaps you're thinking of Maryland with a Larry Hogan?  Ralph Northam is and has been a Democrat.

I think the poster meant New Hampshire.

Thanks.  That makes sense.

rummonkey: Now if they can just get rid of the "South shall rise again" contingent in the mountains and rural areas of Virginia I would consider moving back.

What state doesn't have them?  California?  Wrong (Darrel Issa, anyone?).  New York?  Rochester has pickup trucks with #resist bumper stickers... but don't expect same in Greece.  Maryland gets scary just west of Fredrick (as in you start to see those lawn jockey statues) and can be even worse on the Eastern Shore (governor Schafer once called it a shiathouse).  I'm pretty sure that you'll find some pretty strange things in Western Mass, and Boston itself is no stranger to racism (although I don't think it is politically powerful).

NoVa is fine.  I almost moved to Fredericksburg.  But if you want a place without derp I'd suggest New Zealand, cause every state has derpers and concentrations of derpers.
