 Good.
Get going on the rest

Ooookay. Hope we aren't getting cocky. I seem to remember a certain candidate named Lilliary Finton who thought certain states were sure things.

Biden clearly should have gotten a VP candidate from there.

Now if they can just get rid of the "South shall rise again" contingent in the mountains and rural areas of Virginia I would consider moving back.

It seems to be true of New Hampshire as well. Everyone thinks it's a GOP State but it has gone blue since Obama in 08 and has stayed that way.

I'm very bad at predictions, but I predict that within the next 10 years people will begin to vote based on rationality and policies rather than emotion and whether their lust for being pandered to has been sated.

Also I predict that the Browns will win the pennant this year. They're due.

The Redcaps know that. Hence all the effort on voter suppression.

A party that only appeals to poorly-educated whites in the poorest parts of white America has no future on the federal level.

The 2016 Electoral Map would like to have a word with subby.

It's a purple state.  In 2016, it was a very slim margin in favor of Clinton.  It currently has a Republican governor on pace to get reelected and while it currently has 2 Democratic Senators, that could easily go either way in a given election.

Speaking from Richmond - this is fine.  Gives us more time to freak out about statues.

Democrats are like lice or bedbugs.

I've really got to start treating Fark like I treat Facebook and ignore the assholes as soon as I see them in a thread.  If they don't get a response they'll go away.  Right?  RIGHT?!  Should be fun to see what happens with Michigan once the new maps are in place.  I'm seeing more Biden/dem signs this year than Trump signs.  In 2016 there were way more Trump signs and not nearly as many Clinton signs as there are Biden signs, at least in the area I'm in.

it's drifting Blue regardless of Sununu, who's governing a lot like the Dems. Just look at his agreement with all recommendations for police reform. Sure , Rubs can win but their days as the dominant party are over.

I absolutely loved living in Northern Virginia but let's not fool ourselves, you get 30 minutes outside the major cities and it's as backwater as Alabama or Mississippi. Don't take it for granted as an easy blue win.

Power at all costs. That's all that matters to Republican filth.

Biden keeping it close has coattails.  He's hired a few more people in these parts and I see his ads on TV.  I think his main focus should be on PA,MI, WI, AZ, FL, and NC, but if he has the resources, a little attention to TX is good.

It doesn't matter. The GOP will soon have all 5 votes they need to keep the presidency in perpetuity.

2020-09-19 9:23:30 AM
After 2008 the GOP came across an alarming realization: Minorities were a sufficiently large enough voting bloc to influence and win elections for the Democrats.

So the Republicans faced a tough decision: In order to win future elections, they would either have to A) Modify their platform to appeal to minorities and secure their votes, or B) Harden their platform for whites-only and actively prevent current minorities from voting and future minorities from entering the country.

We know what option they chose.

The GOP actually chose to begin a stronger push towards minorities, then Trump came in with his white nationalist agenda and they all went with it because it gave them a path to power they didn't think they had. You have some actual white power freaks like Miller influencing policy, but Trump and many Republicans in Congress don't actually have core beliefs or values. That's why they're so disgusting.

With Ginsburg gone, even if Trump can't replace her in the next couple of weeks, it's still going to be a heavily right-wing Court that will hear all the lawsuits surrounding the election. If Biden manages to take office despite GOP attempts to steal everything in sight, and if the Democrats also take the Senate, then two things need to happen: (1) Expand the Court by six new Justices, and (2) declare the Republican Party a clear and present danger to the Constitution and outlaw it as a terrorist conspiracy.

Cool, Virginia has flipped and could go back at a moments notice. Florida on the other hand appears to be getting locked as red. More Trump humpers retiring here, blue voters either staying home or GTFO, Hispanic population being duped into thinking the GOP will represent them, and ratfarkery by every elected GOP official.
The GOP knows that electoral votes will never come from California and New York. Texas and Florida are two must wins. You pull either leg off that chair, and they are done putting candidates in the White House.

Trumpy suddenly remember that PR got hit by a hurricane 3 years ago and could use some Federal aid, so he's worried about something.

People still spend money in non-competitive states, just not the big campaigns and PACs.  And I'm not just talking about people putting up lawn signs.  There's an electronic billboard in my corner of northern NJ that has a sign telling people that this is a "Trump Nation" and to get out and vote for him.

Said sign also features a generic picture of a black man posing with a leg up on a chair and leaning his arm on his knee for some reason.

That has to be nice.  You can watch TV with Ovaltine commercials as interruptions instead of "This is the most important election in the history mankind and my opponent eats children and will have you living in caves next year"
