Which is to say, I'd steal Terry's yogurt for a new season of 99.

I'd say one of the way to do this would be to put them into a special department of Internal Affair, because 99 would apparently be the only clean precinct in new York

Just because there is a black guy in it doesn't mean it has to become a SJW vehicle. Perhaps some people would like a comedy to actually be a bit of a respite from 24/7 virtue signaling.

Anyone who uses the phrase "virtue signaling" unironically is someone who does not ever need to be listened to.

"Virtue signaling" ? I thought the new buzzword was "performative"?

Also, there's actually two black guys in the show, one of them in a gay marriage and the other was a victim of racial profiling that was presented as systemic, so, what the hell are you even talking about ? You guys are always talking about libs being snowflakes, and now you are complaining that a TV show does not provide you a safe space where your precious feelings won't be hurt and your convictions unchallenged.

Good comedy is topical. Can you name a successful sitcom that wasn't a product of its time?

That guy was ironically named. He never told any jokes. But Rorschach with his Pagliacci story? Now there was a man with a killer act who could absolutely slay the room.

Oh, there are still comedians, but it's a dead art form at this point, thanks to shrill leftists who get offended by everything.

Comedy today is like heavy metal in the early 90s. It still exists, but has been shoved to the side and isn't really relevant.

Now, there is plenty of "comedy" being done that is "relevant", but it's not really comedy - it's just some angry leftist complaining, and we're supposed to consider than comedy.

The few people that are still true comedians solider on, occasionally doing great stuff like Guns N Roses did. back in the day...

But the genre is dead.

Holt's "Hot Damn!" exclamation when  he correctly guessed why Amy was late one day was possibly the funniest moment of the series.

There's a fine line to walk. If you wander over it and get into preachy territory, it ruins the comedy. The "Rosa Bisexual" story line came pretty close, but I think they handled it well. They handled it really well with the episode about Terry getting pulled over by a racist cop.Still managed to be funny and not feel like an ABC after-school special.

Yep.

99 percent of the time, when someone whines about virtue signalling or political correctness, they are only upset that being a white male is not an absolute license to do whatever you want.

that's what I hope they remember, it's a show that's meant to be a goofy comedy. If they go too topical they'll lose the show vibe. And FWITW I found last season disappointing. Certainly the worst so far
