Auntie Cheesus: Darth_Lukecash: Auntie Cheesus: Darth_Lukecash: Taylor Mental: So I rode down to the general store tonight and passed our polling station at the volunteer fire department. They have a Trump-Pence 2020 sign out front. And they send me letters asking for a donation. Sheesh.

That is a direct violation of voting laws.

If it is a polling place, no political signs should be visible

In Texas, all political signage must be a minimum of 150 linear feet from the entrance to the polling place.  The term "Entrance to the polling place" in locations where the polling station is located within another building can be interpreted as either the outer doors of the building or the inner doors of the actual polling station.

Texas: randomly interpretation of the law to fit rich white power needs since the Alamo.

Ya all remember the Alamo?

Ya know, I see enough crap around this site about how all Texans are idiots.  To see the implication that all Texans are white power supporters in THIS thread, when y'all know that several Maddites live in or hail from Texas is a bit more than I can abide.

Thank you, Auntie.

Noooo, please, tell the multiple blue voting Texans in this very thread all about the "typical thing everyone assumes about Texas/Texans"

I mean, what's next?  Going to explain to the Canadians that it gets cold up there?

You mean the revered battle fought by a bunch of white guys that disagreed with following the conditions of the contracts they willingly signed with another country to get land in Texas? That Alamo?

Thanks. They're about 7 years old at this point, maybe 8. Need to put new insoles in 'em but otherwise they're in great shape for being worn as often as they are.

Are you in a cold weather location?

If so, do you manage to wear them when it's cold? I have always had an issue with the soles not being cold-compatible, and getting really slick on cold pavement.

I am. Pretty sure Northern MN qualifies.

I wear 'em for the first part of winter, and then, when shiat gets really bad and everything is too slippery for life, I switch to a boot that's a little less prone to hardening in the cold.

When a man out of california tries to explain how Texas is to a woman who currently not only lives there, but is active in local, state and national politics.

Like Florida Man, but with less criminality, and more overt unearned smugness.

The person I posted? A black friend who lived all his life in Phoenix AZ. Moved to Dallas because he heard it was "better"

A lot of his family moved their from New Orleans after Katrina when all of their family run business were wiped out.

Everything they tell me is it is one of the worse places they have ever lived.

Im not saying that all of Texas is racist. But what I'm saying is a majority and historically Texasisnt really known for their progressive stance once the West became civilized.

FTFY.  You have a "friend" who moved there.  She's lived there over 2 decades and is actively involved in getting blue candidates elected.

You still owe her an apology..
