Why?  They're a drug trafficker.  Haven't you read the arrest report from next week where they had a broken taillight and 4 kilos of cocaine in their car?

Is this the thread where the bootlicking farkers who defended the Sheriff's department treatment of the journalist can come and apologize and admit that they were wrong, or are they going to double-down and lick that boot again?

Fark Los Angeles Magazine for their lifestyle piece on the Proud Boys founding dipshiat, but fark this Sheriff more. And yeah, I just said "but fark"

Those details include claims that Huang failed to identify herself as a reporter '

WTF am I reading?

Isn't it cops who usually fail to identify themselves as cops?  Or at least do so only after they break down doors and put three dozen bullets into an innocent person?

Was she pointing a microphone or a camera right at them?

I am shocked

So, all the Farkers who said she deserved it or that the cops were in the right or that she didn't identify herself or have ID or any other BS that night ... you have anything to say here? Just curious.

"All evidence we have currently gathered suggests that significant parts of the claims made by the department may have been false," Huntsman said."

Well, that's just fake news Margaret. Just like Trump says on the Fox news.

And, down the dumpster hole it goes.

Too bad. It was a nice republic you had there. Well, racists will vote for their own, whilst the libbies will debate who is more pure.

O, who gets a SCOTUS nom? Yeah, Trump does. Who gets to pus it through? Turtle does without a hint of hypocrisy.

Snap. Farkin' liberals, you ain't goin' to win.

Ignorance always does.

Get used to that.  In President-for-life Trump's America you will accept whatever justification given to you by state or federal authorities, citizen.

"We have requested information from the Sheriff's Department. They have of late not cooperated in investigations of themselves so we do not anticipate their cooperation, and that makes things more difficult," he told the Times.

If the Civilian Oversight Commission is that toothless, what the hell good is it?

Pretty dumb of LASD to moon the world at a time when the political class is under pressure to reform the justice system. It won't make politicians favorably disposed to hearing any arguments against specific proposals from LASD.

One of the County Board of Supervisors has already called for the resignation of the Sheriff. I for a fact will be voting for the Sheriff's opponent at the next opportunity.

The appearance of accountability.

By design, appearance is all you get - the police union ensured that when they defined the rules for it.

From what I'm reading, the entire LASD needs to be burned to the ground. Maybe the county can build something better in its place. I would start with requiring them to cooperate with all county IG investigations, and removing their ability to manage their own IT infrastructure. Give the IG admin access to all their systems, and system-wide read only access to each member of the county board and the citizen oversight committee. Require admin approval to delete any files.

There are other reforms that need to happen, too. More frequent psych evals, longer training times spent for new officers, et cetera and all that.

Any print magazine centered around Los Angeles is funded by deep pockets with an agenda, unfortch.

Man, this is making me lose faith in the honesty of Los Angeles's law enforcement community.

I was always pissed off about how unrealistic the ending of There Will Be Bloodwas.  That pretty much happened in real life and even in the 30's people were calling BS on it.

The police have not been held accountable, and won't be because of the union.

Now that the police are militarized, everyone is the enemy.

That's exactly it. They aren't police anymore, they don't help people anymore (generally), they are there purely to take someone to jail.

If you want a fight, you dress for a fight - which is exactly what they do now. Pure escalation.

The relationship between a board of supervisors and a sheriff.  BoS sets the budget, but sheriff has all operational control. Leads to problems like this.

Waiting for my apology from one of our resident cops who told me must be mistaken about her not blocking access to the ER because I'm ignorant of how hospitals are laid out.

Check my handle.
