I'll send her my prayers.  In fact, all of the prayers I intend to pray today will go for her.  That's how I'll help.

I'm sure that Collins has learned her lesson from these bad poll numbers, and there's no reason to vote her out now.

I'm sure she's learned her lesson, no need to vote her out.

Now let's leave her bankrupt and broken.  Maybe she can retire to one  of those Stephen King towns where the kindly old storekeeper gives her a hope chess and that night, tentacles (but not Japanese gropey ones) come out of the hope chess and drag her screaming it it never to be seen again.

Mitch McConnell? I know you miss your dear friend and we can only hope that she turns up.  Until then, would you keep this hope chess?  It was Susan's most prized possession.  She put a lot of herself in to it.

Why not? He's good at his job if you consider his job to be sticking it to the libs and getting Federalist Society judges appointed.

It's like when people oppose Pelosi on the basis "she's seen as toxic by Republicans!" or "she's dismissive of young Leftists!" At the end of the day the woman can get a whip count, and that is more than you could ever say for John Boehner.

Hopefully Collins poisons the well bad enough there won't be another Republican elected to the Senate there for a generation.

If Mitch isn't the Senate Majority Leader, I wouldn't be surprised to see him come down with a "medical condition" and have to retire early

Yes.

Because losing means that the Republican incumbents in less-Trumpy states lost. Meaning that the remaining Republican Senators are going to be far more orange-lipped. Hence, as long as McConnell doesn't shiat talk Trump, he's good.

I donated to Gideon's campaign. I know little about her, other than that she's not Susan Collins. Good enough for me.

You can see their model had it as "it is going to revert to the mean and Collins will have a healthy chance of reelection" before the last handful of polls after the debate shows Gideon a slight favorite (53% chance of winning.)

Meanwhile, Amy McGrath is down by double digits to McConnell in Kentucky.  If the Senate stays in GOP control with Mitch as majority leader, we won't be in for good times ahead.

Easy there, cowpoke. You don't want to overextend yourself. I wouldn't spare Collins too many thoughts, just in case. McConnell and the other Republicans might need them, it is Friday after all.

Although I would prefer to see Mitch out of the senate entirely, let's try to find out if they would keep him as minority leader.

I would love to see McGrath kick McConnell out of the Senate, but if that doesn't happen there are paths to making Mitch the minority leader.

Arizona, Colorado, Montana, Iowa, North Carolina and Georgia are potential Democratic pick-ups. Plus Maine, FTFA.

Welp, if Dumpy ends up "winning" a second term. a completely hostile legislature in both houses has the potential to slow or maybe even soften the trajectory of the nation's death dive caused by Trump.

This one time I will address Trumpers earnestly: I do understand that circling the drain slowly due to historical forces you don't understand and neither you nor the worthless scum you support can do a fig about ever no matter what. But this Trump shiat isn't the way. Recant.

As to Collins specifically, fark her, what a sad sack. An embarrassment and a disgrace to Maine.

It is illogical that anyone but the one percenters vote Republican. An argument could even be made that the extreme religious people might vote Republican just to save babies (that they don't actually want to grow up into adults). These poor idiots living hand-to-mouth paycheck-to-paycheck vote to keep themselves in that exact position. That's why they keep trying to screw up the public education system. Pays to keep them stupid.
