Technically, yes. You're going to need a bunch more Americans on the roster to claim it's a team of US players though. As is, Americans are pretty much token.

Oh, great.  You've ruined professional sports.

Next you're going to tell me that all those footballers aren't really born in Manchester or Liverpool, and that English teams only technically win the English Premiership.

This lifelong Montreal Canadians fan loved the headline, subby. Brilliant, simply brilliant.

If you're a lifelong fan, I'd at least expect you to write the team name name properly.

A battle of two non-traditional powers both below the 40th parallel. This is sure to piss off hockey "purists". And it's Fark's two favorite states: Texas and Florida. Guns vs. Meth, Brisket vs. Grouper, Willie Nelson vs. Tom Petty, definitely Trump vs. possibly Biden.

GO BOLTS!!!

I love it.  Original Six purists can piss up a tree.
Nobody outside of Boston or Detroit gives a crap that your team has been around since 1942.
You don't even hear Bears, Giants & Packers fans constantly reminding everybody how old their teams are and that somehow makes them special.

not only can the original 6 get farked, but original 6 cups shouldn't count either. just like the NFL only counts super bowls

Seems like you need a bit more practice.

Stars in 6.  They were my 2nd team growing up, so it feels good when they are playing well.

*pats you on the head*  Very good.  Now please go back to your fake-ass NBA.

I'm pretty sure having Game 1 on Rosh Hashanah wasn't exactly what they had in mind either, yet here we are.

Will they still pipe in booing for the Bergman?

I'm pretty sure I hope the Bolts win....But meh if the Stars do.....

I'm hoping they do. And if they don't, I hope Doc or Eddie fill it in for the non-attendant fans.

The Leafs were alive past June. That is a win

On paper: Bolts in 6/7.
Gut: Stars in same.
IHDGAF, let's just have a damn good Final and not have Brett Hull's skate steal it.

Tampa Bay finally gets by the Injury God and doesn't succumb to the Choking Disease that strikes the Washington Capitals and San Jose Sharks every April. I put the Lighting as Cup favorites for the past several years and started to feel like they were joining that duo's club. But they didn't fall this year. Pity that I was blinded by a Carolina Hurricanes team that looked fun, a Flyers squad that appeared to be the next big thing and even gave the Islanders recognition as a dark horse. As for on-ice recents, the Lightning had a slowdown against the NYI and Dallas is more of that. Have a feels this is the penultimate moment for the Bolts: win or break up the team, either through players thinking the party left with Stevie Y or his successor starts dithering with the roster.

Dallas is that team that axes its coach in mid-season and reaps the benefits of a guy who realizes the foundation is there, it just needs a different kick in the ass. Los Angeles in 2012, St. Louis in 2019, and probably a few others in past seasons I've forgetting off the top of my head. They've gotten a few more days of rest (good or bad thing), have some good stories in vets like Corey Perry (alive in the spring for the first time in decades) and Big Pavelski, and have the karma of having defeated the West's Best. Line depth is my only concern, and the fact Dallas relies on defensemen making offense more than those '90s-era Capitals on my Sega Genesis (Iafrate, assist Hatcher). As with Tampa Bay, I've picked Dallas in years past to make the conference finals, maybe even consider them as possible finalists, and they've found ways to fail early. So in a year I write them off, they show up.

/Oh, and f--k the hockey purists who think anything below Chicago or Denver on latitude shouldn't have teams.

Americans make up just more than 25% of the league. And yeah, Patrick Kane and Zach Pariese are just token additions, not really deserving a place in the league.

I'm leaning towards Tampa in 5-6, but it could almost as easily go Dallas' way (6-7 games).  I'd kind of rather that Tampa takes it but wouldn't be all that upset to see Pavs & Cogs get their names on The Cup either... shrug.  Pretty much, who cares, lets have good violent hockey (more or less within the rules & not with life altering hits/injuries)

I have no farks to give over this.  I hate both teams.

Sometimes you do need reminders of how old teams are.  There are two teams still in existence that were charter members of the NFL in 1920 when the league was formed, and you forgot half of the Original Two - in fact, you missed the oldest NFL team, formed in 1898.

If I have to pick one, Tampa. Can never root for Dallas.

There's this annoying and hard-to-target franchise calling itself the Cardinals....
