You don't see a lot of dirt-kicking in today's game; it's a lost art.

I'm curious why he was ejected. I didn't see any written reporting on the link you left summitter.

Donaldson argued with the ump about the strike zone. Next pitch, Donaldson hits a HR & kicks dirt on the plate as he was crossing home. That got him tossed.

That seems fair to me. I applaud the umpire who ejected him for not putting up with childish behavior. Too bad we don't have somebody with that sense of propriety as the US Attorney General.

So you're suggesting childish behavior isn't something we see from professional athletes? If you don't like my analogy perhaps you're better off taking up knitting. Welcome to Fark.

He legit asked the ump the pitch before if the called strike was in the zone or because his check swing.   Got attitude back for no good reason.  Some of these umpires now think players shouldn't even talk to them.

Agree with Donaldson that umpiring has been awful this year.  But he has to realize that his team is fighting for first place in the division and could use his bat in the lineup.  The Twins lost 4-3 and he would have batted in the 9th.

Abreu's single to tie the game later on wouldn't have happened, because Donaldson likely cuts the ground ball off and throws him out.  That was an extremely selfish play.  The Twins were a bunch of whiners the entire series.
