I got about ten in. Turns out a lot of nu-metal types do both illegal and prescription drugs, and occasionally one gets into a bad traffic snarl.

Old school metal like Metallica... farking gods that's funny. Metallica were rubbish johnny-come-latelys who contributed, with the rest of the thrash talent-free wankers, to the ruination of everything worthwhile in metal in the late 80s so fark off. farking Metallica. Jesus. As for the whiny pop bands in the article its not even worth the time to call them the watery crap they are.

There's no such actual thing as Nu Metal.  It was simply a catch-all term for aggressive sounding music from between the mid 90s to around the mid 2000s.  Oh, and Trapt has always sucked.

Right after we solve all other problems, maybe.  People that far down the rabbit hole are running from life shiat they find intolerable without the drugs.

Aside from sucking horribly ("Headstrong" being one of the worst songs ever written), Trapt are also completely horrible people. "Trumper COVID-denier" is their latest act, apparently:

Congratulations, guys, you spent 25 years hating on something that doesn't exist and 30 years celebrating something that doesn't exist for killing something that probably didn't exist either. How much more metal could this be?

They are Groove metal,Duh
/"Groove metal took the heavy bits of thrash and introduced breakdowns and slam bits that were stolen from the heavier bits of the hardcore scene. It also took away the image of a dramatic long haired vocalist singing about Satan or Tolkien, and generally had short haired dudes in shorts yelling about life. This splintered into the Nu-Metal and Metal-core scenes within a few years. With the Nu-Metal guys adding even more groove (and usually rap), and the Metal-core guys adding more hardcore" Abraham.Lincoln

This is metal, where subgenres focused on elves and dragons and such are perfectly acceptable.  Existence has nothing to do with it.

I'll stand by my statements, and listen to whatever I like.

They got around the payola laws by playing a brief "This next song is brought to you by Interscope Records" message.

I was 14 in 2000. Fred Durst always came across as an edgier-than-thou Douchasaurus Rex.
