We've got sandy beaches...

So? Who the f**k wants to see 'em? I hope you appreciate the concern I have for my friend Franky, Doug. I'm gonna find him, and you're gonna help me find him, and we're gonna start at that fight.

Oh come on, it has to be a quirky, stressed single mom with a cute but bratty and later on full of teenage rebellion daughter who's different ways first dismay the locals before she endears herself to them.

Now, I can't decide if it's

1.  a funny, quirky sitcom that practically writes itself (cast: single mom/short order cook, daughter, 6 quirky locals, 1 assistant part-time cook, 2 part-time waitresses; recurring: restaurant regular characters, Karens, staff, etc.)

2. a gritty, Scottish noir murder mystery that practically writes itself (cast: single mom/retired police officer (who in episode 1 left the force because of stress from her partner's constant roughing up of suspects and everyone Black, which she had to report but he was super-popular there so everyone hated her, and after her ailing father passes, the police therapist tells her she needs to take time out non-stressful somewhere in the middle of nowhere, which sets up episode 2), daughter, 6 quirky locals/assistant detectives, 1 assistant part time cook, 2 part time waitresses, police buddy back at the precinct; suspects: almost all of the above, but also restaurant patrons, staff, and one of the quirky locals as a misdirect).
