Mathematical modeling finds California, Ohio or Idaho could gain seats at the expense of Florida and Montana, the analysis said.

Well wouldn't that be a damn shame.

Nationwide, 66% of households have responded to the survey, and Census Bureau employees have either counted or stopped visiting another 27 percent of households.

Anytime I hear a percentage statistic like 66% or two/thirds or anything in the 90%+ range I tend to get a little suspicious of the data. Anyone got Wilbur Ross on speed dial?

That was the exact same damn excuse Mnuchin was using earlier about who or what businesses exactly was receiving the trillion dollar bailout funds. It's classified...not it's not. It's confidential....nope that either.

Not even close to highest levels in human history. While the $$ amount might make you think it is, the % amount is piddles compared to shiat that went on back in ancient times. Before things like credit existed and kings would spend literally the entire countries wealth on themselves, or when a conquering king would take every single item of value when they beat someone

Then here are all the members of Congress who anticipated just these issues and voted against it:

Prediction: If the election night returns show Trump winning his administration will sue in order to try to stop mail-in and absentee ballots from being counted.

I remember the census during the Clinton admin was talking about new ways to do it and using sampling in some areas, whatever that means, and the right wing talking heads on AM radio were flipping out about how everyone needed to be counted not a sample. I wonder how much their tune has changed since then.

Good.  The only reason the Republicans don't want to count a third of a billion people is because they don't want a third of a billion people to have a representative government or have a government that can effectively deal with running a country with a third of a billion people in it.

The far right might want to consider that pissing off pretty much all of that third of a billion people isn't a great idea when (let's face it, it's not really if at this point) America decides to take a lesson from France's playbook.

My wife is working part-time enumerating for the census, so I guess I'm getting a kick, yadda yadda yadda.

Heh, get your ballots in as early as you can.  Most places with mail in voting start counting the mail ins before election day.

jefferator: farking insanity.......WTAF have we become?

I hang out with a crowd who is offended that census workers show up at their doors. Never even occurred to them to actually just do the farking census. I said, Yeah, that's why you're supposed to just fill the things out, then they won't show up at your house.

It's like they don't even understand. Why should they have to do anything to help the government, or their country?  It's out to get them!
Most of them have never even had a brush with the law, like I have. It's pure fantasy.

Right?  But they didn't need any help from the government, what has it ever done for them?

I don't think there's an "if" here.

I think he calls it for himself, no matter what. Then everything has to be worked back from there, if possible.

/that vaccine will be out by then too
//it doesn't have to work or anything
///it just has to have Trump's promise to secure that vote
