Nearing Election Day, GOP requires loyalty tests. Details at 11.

2020-09-17 11:34:14 AM
The Republican Party is a white supremacist organization. And the United States as a whole is incredibly bigoted, as shown by the across-the-board drop in support among the non-Black demographic.

2020-09-17 11:36:28 AM
There were Republicans that actually supported BLM before June?

2020-09-17 11:40:36 AM
I blame big Extraction Industry.

2020-09-17 11:43:25 AM
Gee, shocking that Republicans don't think black lives matter.

2020-09-17 11:43:35 AM
So they went from 5 to 4 supporters?

/Almost like they were just virtue signaling back in June, eh?
//No way

2020-09-17 11:43:46 AM
I mean, he just said California could eat shiat and die, so yeah, I think All Lives Matter is out the window too.

They found out is meant black people and not black cats?

2020-09-17 11:51:07 AM
This is phase we call "picking teams".

that's what I was thinking. What is 20% of 1 or 2 people?

They were doing what Trump does all the time, take a position not based upon principle but whatever feels or makes you look good at that moment. They stand for nothing

2020-09-17 11:54:31 AM
Republicans always accuse liberals of virtue signaling and following fads, but there's nothing more faddish than this.

They're probably drawing a false correlation between the BLM protesters and the mobs of people burning down buildings and looting stuff every night.

2020-09-17 11:56:13 AM
Oh, well in that case we'd just better scrap the whole thing. We certainly can't work toward a form of justice that is unpopular with *checks* a minority of Americans.

/popularity is irrelevant. Justice is relevant
//How popular was interracial marriage when Loving was decided, again?

Conservative media successfully associated BLM with destructive rioting. That's why the real protesters were so careful to discourage burning and looting-they know that a lot of the right wing are reading directly from the Nazi playbook, and are itching for a Reichstag Fire.

2020-09-17 11:57:42 AM
So, from 5 percent to 4 percent?

2020-09-17 11:57:45 AM
They're being shown nothing but violent actions associated with BLM protests.  Of course they're going rescind their support.

All just meant "all white lives" matter, the white part is implicit, lest they be called a racist.

For a moment, it almost seemed like the government would at least do a surface job by removing monuments and renaming military bases dedicated to traitors of the Civil War era. Eveb some-gop-lawmakers were on-board with it, until Dumpy put his tiny revisionist-demanding fist through the whole thing and openly proclaimed that nothing would change, because fark black people.

RasIanI: They were always looking for the 1st excuse to bail, anyways - everyone knows their blackened hearts

Yeah, and the slightest hint of rioting was their excuse.  Man, the line black people have to walk in order to protest is thinner and less visible than fishing line.

To be clear I'm not saying I condone the rioting, but like Chris Rock, I understand.  If I had to balance all the societal expectations about exactly what I was allowed to do just to get the same benefit of the doubt from police that white people get, yeah I'd throw some bricks, too.

Right after the Floyd video came out, it certainly took a big jump.

But conservative media has spent the past three months eagerly scaring white people with videos of the nightly protests in Portland.  Those are being played up as some mass movement, and it works because a decent chunk of conservatives react very strongly to fear-based messaging.

Conservative media is like an NFL team. Sure there will come a day when Rush does or leaves radio, but there is always another Rush waiting in the wings to carry on the torch of crazy.

I mean if you wanted to give some people the benefit of the doubt, you could say that maybe the folks with any decency are unwilling to call themselves Republicans any longer, bringing down the numbers, but I'll stop posting from Lala land now.

More cops have died from Covid than have been killed in the BLM protests or by Antifa protesters.  More lives and property have been lost due to one gender-reveal party than to all the BLM protests combined, by a huge margin.

To be fair, so did the "liberal" media as well as the Democratic candidate for president. They all want a nice, quiet protest that they can safely ignore, which is why there is rioting in the first place.

Seriously this.  Rush doesn't breed new racists, he just amplifies the racism that's been barely suppressed by old white people.  He makes them feel comfortable expressing it because now it's not just them, it's a whole community of racists!  Now those people do breed racists (literally, in most cases), but Rush?  Nah, not directly.  When Rush is off the air, he'll just be replaced w/ someone just as bad if not worse, and Rush's audience will flock to that person, or to any number of other clones.

Why would you think that?  What about them makes you think they want to change?  Trump is not an outliyer he is basically the same as Reagan.

Ben Shapiro, Charlie Kirk, the gun girl who pooped herself, Jay Cutler's girlfriend, etc. are right there to replace Rush the day he farks off and dies.

I agree with that, but that logic is pretty similar to what racists say regarding police shootings of black people: "Blacks kill way more blacks than police do!"

Never bet against the money and there is a LOT of money in white supremacy (Fox News, etc) but not very much countering it the other way.

Considering the least-biased source they get their news from is Fox, this isn't exactly surprising.

It has been this way since the 50s and 60s, the second there's violence, support falls.

but what specifically happened in June? The Chaz in Seattle, and that was most certainly George Floyd protestors.

You mean back when 100% of deaths were caused by cops or alt-right Nazis? I'm not surprised that crayon-eating Republicans gobbled up the idea that this was BLM's fault.
