Wow. Did I read that right? Barr put a bad spin on slavery?

FOAD, Barr.  Right now.

I really can't tell if he's completely ignorant of history, or if he's being deliberately moronic. Either way, he shouldn't be talking where people can hear him.

Yes. The constitution allows slavery in that case.

It's time Weasel Barr get a little more attention.

He deserves it.

Barr says calls for coronavirus lockdown are the 'greatest intrusion on civil liberties' other than slavery in US history

Skipping right past Japanese internment camps, too. Going for the wrongest answer, as always.

He craves power. He noticed that righteous people are powerful. So he chooses to twist facts to a point where he feels he can describe himself as righteous.

And the audience applauds him because they are tired of feeling like the bad guys and want to feel like a righteous good guy too.

Sounds like Barr is starting to get a little afraid of how things will turn out in November.  What's the matter, Billy?  Thought that you had an infallible escape plan all prepared if your orange leader loses?

2020-09-17 6:56:29 AM
Yeah working from home wearing a mask in public and keeping away from people is the same as being owned by someone and having the daily terror of being a slave hanging over your head you fat fark.

2020-09-17 7:00:16 AM
In fairness, the way HE would execute such an order probably WOULD be about that bad.

Not wearing a mask while a minority would be a felony at minimum, even if you're by yourself, plus charges for attempted murder in the cops that beat you into submission.

/white people could still do whatever they wanted, of course, provided they didn't outwardly shoe that they were liberal

Hey let's ask the Native Americans how they feel about this, or the Japanese.  Or here's a thought, lets go down to the border and ask some of the Latinos.  I know where we can find a bunch that aren't going anywhere.

I think he meant to say it is the greatest intrusion for white people.  Although the reason behind the third amendment might say otherwise

If things don't go like way, way too many people are worrying about kinda loudly (I hope to fark you're all wrong), and the option remains realistic enough, we farking need to re-brain the entire government right down to the documents defining its structure, federal and more than a few states, and get some actual checks and balances going.

It's broken. A well-functioning government shouldn't be able to easily reduce so much of it to yes-men, megaphones, the exact worst people for each un-elected position, and rubber stamps in a few years.

/I know, I'll be dead of old age or a tragic rocket-sled accident by the time that happens, and then everyone will forget to get around to it.

I disagree. I say he could put in 10 years doing it before he dropped dead.

Now, there's only one way to settle this, so we'd better get the court proceedings against the fat fark going ASAP so we can lock his bloated corrupt ass up and put him to work...

Translation; Slavery was only bad for Black people and he's okay with that.

1. Systematic elimination of Natives
2. Chinese Exclusion Act
3. Operation Wetback
4. Japanese Internment
5. Jim Crow Laws
6. Poisoning imported alcohol during Prohibition, then letting it be sold.
8. Whatever bio-weapon testing was going on at schools in Minnesota in the 60s.
9. Tuskegee experiments
10. Forced sterilization
11. Injecting pregnant women  (180) with radioactive vitamins to test its effects on fetuses.

I don't believe telling people they can't go to Church in person has no place on that list.

Actual farking harm, asshole.

i guess that 200,00 dead ain't enough.   now that covid is the third cause of death in the us, its not enough to take appropriate action.

just let us know how many dead is enough for this to no longer be an annoyance, and actually be something to take action upon.  Give use a number so we can stop prattling about the PPE, and social distancing until your quota is filled.

William Barr, QAnon Fascist, a moron that can't comprehend the concept of the US Constitution, or what US Freedom means. A science denying, a sycophantic Trumponian Kakistocracy subservient lap dog.

He should be in prison for abdicating his Oath and violating the US Constitution to fulfill Trump's whims.

In the speech, Barr questioned any criticism he's received for "interfering" in cases. The attorney general has ultimate authority, he said. "These people are agents of the attorney general. As I say, FBI agents, whose agent do you think you are?" Unless the Attorney General is a criminal... and those agents are agents of the American People, not your personal police force.

Well, to be fair, he said a national lockdown was the same as slavery.

He's wrong of course.

It isn't.

He's also wrong twice, since we never HAD a national lockdown to even make this idiotic comparison.

He's linking something that never actually happened to something he's never actually experienced.

No wonder Trump adores him.

I hate to dig into this too far, but it shows how fundamentally the GOP has moved away from the basic concept that governments are supposed to protect the populace.  One of the most fundamental purposes of government is to organize when a disaster comes.  Health disaster is a big category of that.  By imposing emergency lockdowns the state governments were doing what they were supposed to be doing no less than issuing orders during a hurricane.

However Barr has totally drank the koolaid and now he believes the role of government is to do the bidding of the ruling class and screw everyone else. If the lockdowns served some purpose to ruling class then he would have been all for it.

People do NOT have the right to hurt other people.  People like Barr have dropped the part of civil rights that state that they are also a statement of responsibility towards other people and kept the "mah rights" part of them.

Personally I hope to live long enough that Trumps utter farkup of a response to the pandemic is used in a similar context.

"I've not seen such incompetent governing since the 2020 pandemic" for example. That will be the proof that we've grown out of the Trump era when you hear republicans saying that.

oh wow this is so correct.  There were so many people that loved Hitler before WWII because his philosophy was as anti-Communist as it came.  He literally believed Communists were Jews.

Sorry to the "but SOSHIALISM is in the NAME!" folks.
