Beer? Yes. Hard seltzer? Not thanks. I don't even know anyone that likes that crap.

I went low-carb for a few months and figured it might be an ok stop-gap until I could go back to craft beer.

I can't bring myself to love it, but some of it is okay (most is awful). It's just so weak. 5% ABV tastes like water, costs as much as good beer, and goes down way too easily. I don't mean that in the dangerous way, more in the financial way.

They did the same thing with wine last year.

I snagged one of the beer calendars last year. They all tasted like malty sand. It quickly became a daily torture. Get home from work and quickly suck down whatever fresh hell awaited behind that day's cardboard door.

It's kind of neat, unfortunately my state doesn't have Aldi's that sell beer.had some of their store brand hard cider, it's a nice generic version of angry orchard.

Costco has a German beer advent calendar (at least in CO for the past couple years). Already out this year. Descent selection though I preferred last year's as it included a few rauchbiers - not sure there are any in this year's selection.

My gf likes it, but I don't really see the point in spending the money. A 12-pack of hard seltzers costs twice as much as just buying vodak and regular seltzer and doing the mixing yourself. I guess you pay for convenience?

You do of course realize that "Aldi" is an anagram of "Laid", right?

nice, I wish ours had even just the cider. but the 3 near us around NE Phila don't sell anything. I'm guessing they could choose to pay for a license, but that likely requires much additional cost in training, loss-prevention, store layout/design, &c. &c.

also interesting that whatever horrific-PA-state-license our local supermarche e.g. ACME has, seems to count cider and beer as the same thing. but... PA limits cider to 5.5% but no ABV limits on beer, so maybe there could be other nonsense in play for what ALDI does.

One-a-Day Advent Calendars:  you open a whole Advent calendar every day.

Most of them have chocolates in them, but you can get quite a variety. Try shoppoing at the After Christmas Sales.

For people with a) no self control and b) no concept whatsoever of Lent.
