(Marketwatch)   Why has this story not gotten any traction? If I stole $4 million from 9/11 first responders I'd think people would want to hear about it. But my name's not Trump   (marketwatch.com) divider line

Trump likes people who weren't actively trying to keep his building the second tallest in NY.

It hasn't got traction because Republicans and American media don't care when Republicans do things like this.

Well, he did lead his team from Trump Tower down to the WTC site and personally lifted tons of debris off of trapped victims.

The article states it has been going on since at least 2016. While this is terrible , it seems that it is the normal kind of terrible where politicians steal money and not something a dotard might be able to pick up on.

I guess they should impeach him again?

WTF is there to do?

The Republicans in the Senate are just as complicit as Trump.

Only 4 million?  I thought he was a businessman.

yes yes... subby.. trump personally stole it. PERSONALLY.
its now literally in his bank account.
it has nothing to do with the feds and new York bickering over medicare/caid reimbursement expenditures and all this money going into the same pot (new York)..
its a personal theft..  a firefighter has died of cancer because trump said to kill him.
it in NO way could be relating to care already received and paid for by the state.. and the fed government not agreeing with the overall new York expenditures being presented for reimbursement across the entire medicare/Medicaid spectrum.. including the 9/11 folks.

please, continue the circle-jerk.

No amount of harm is too large, no grift is too small.  He'll burn down a nation to put five dollars more in his wallet.

TFA says it started in 2016. You know, before Trump was president.

Thanks Obama.

Oh wait, New Yorkers? mmm. who cares. If they can afford to live in their gilded condos, they don't need any funding.

You all are just biased against Trump. Why would he need to take money from a bunch of losers like dead firefighters?

I've thought Dems should be impeaching him as quickly as they can put sound articles together and as often as the Senate rejects them. It might not have made much difference in the here and now, but would have been a hell of a statement for history and swaying future "values voters." Remember when that was a thing and many genuinely meant it, but we just had different values?

I personally don't feel like Stewart ever made a comeback after getting burned at the stake when he unpatriotically made fun of and questioned GW Bush's actions.
They made him a pariah at the time of setting up the Patriot Act, no questions were allowed.

Yup, looks like that money went to other departments to cover Medicare costs:  When Republican Sen. Peter King from Long Island asked the NIOHS and Department of Health and Human Services for an explanation, however, he learned that some other agencies in New York City has been at odds with the federal government over Medicare bills. This resulted in money being cut from the FDNY World Trade Center Health Program to cover the delinquent Medicare debt of these other entities.

Trump & Co have done many objectionable things, but I don't think this is one of them.  I'll save my outrage for later.  I'm sure it'll get put to good use. :-P

What a poorly written article. There's something to complain about here but without properly describing it, you can't tell what's going on. Sounds like the city owes the feds due to disputes over billing in other federal programs. It's normal for the federal govt to withhold payments across the board when they are owed money. They're terrible at communicating it, and it's hard for the state/city to know when "dispute" turns into "debt owed" and when garnishing payments will happen, but the practice is normal. Why THIS program is hit instead of the hundreds of other federal programs paying the locality is a bit odd and should be explained. It may well turn out that the city is to blame for not settling its debts. Clear communication as always is needed.

Trump fatigue, combined with stories that turned out to be false or very misleading.

If you raise the level of outrage to 11 EVERY.  FARKING.   DAY., and when you put out false stories that are easily disproved by contemporary evidence (like the "good people on both sides" thing, and the recent "losers" thing), people honestly stop listening.

I mentioned this phenomenon back even before the election, in relation to the "every Republican candidate is Hitler" thing.   When you do things like claim Milquetoast Mitt is going to put black people back into chattel slavery, no one takes you seriously.

So when you've got something that might be real, well, you blew your wad on inconsequential shiat.   Maybe you can impeach him again.   You should get right on that, he needs a boost for the coming election.

fark off. Fox News ran stories for a farking week because Obama ate the "uppity" kind of mustard. There are constant stories about how terrible the Trump administration is because the Trump Administration keeps doing horrible things. The only consolation is that people like you have gone mask off about how much you hate America and your fellow countrymen.

/Also Trump called white supremacists "very fine people". There's video.
