What else are they going to do, sanction it?

Yet another example of a government led by an idiot that intentionally damaged two economies in some futile attempt to placate his ego.  This will be remembered as yet another reason for Canada to broaden our trade partners and rely even less upon what is supposed to be a neighbor.

Biden has his work cut out for himself beyond november on this front.

I don't think this is a big deal. Who cares?

Aluminum has never been a topic of conversation with my Canadian girlfriends.

"Hey Donald, all that shiat you've been doing with tariffs that screw over American manufacturers when the retaliation hits?  Those people vote, too."

"If we lift the thumb-screws do you think they'll vote for me in gratitude?"

"Undoubtedly."

Obama had to do a "world appology tour" because of Bush. It will be Biden's turn.

Perhaps you should peruse the agreement and see if there is any oversight.

I am not sick of winning under Trump,

I am actually sick of the US losing under Trump,

Trump supporters: "He knows how to run business, he can run America!"

Narrator: Every one of his business ventures failed.

Jebus, Trump supporters are dumber than flat earthers and anti-vaxxers

Trump in March: "Trade wars are easy to win!"

Trump in September: "We give in! Mercy!"

The only people who think Trump is a "tough guy" are people even weaker than Trump.

They aren't in it for his business "savvy".

What, you expected Twitler to actually go through with it? This close to the election? When industry leaders that would be seriously farked over likely told him to STFU about it or they pull every thin red cent from his coffers and leave him even more hobbled?

The Canada-USA relationship has gone from "longest undefended border" to "game theory" in 3 1/2 years.

I suspect there is a big overlap between all three of them on a Venn. Whenever I think of Trump supporters I think of these two idiots.

From what I hear that is entirely due them harping on your lumber problems.

No, he got major pay raises for Mexican workers.  It's enough to make them happy but not enough to discourage US outsourcing.  It's not going back to something good, it's being stuck with something worse.

I think Biden and his administration can walk in without much effort and easily clean up what can be cleaned.  If there's resistance at all from across the table, you'll know it wasn't Trump who was the problem.

/and he's about always the problem

Biden's team will walk in for sure and sit down in earnest.  But the first words out of every burned trade partner will be "How you can assure us this can't happen again?"  And the answer is you can't, not without some serious restructuring of your education system, economy and electoral system.

As I said, he's got his work cut out for him.

But what about the tariffs on aluminium?

5 bucks says the tarriffs weren't something to balance trade deals, and more to do with that aluminum plant in kentucky for Mitch to grift money through.

Yeah, all those countries aren't laughing at us anymore, thanks to Trump!  Oh wait... why are they still laughing?
